Top 3 Reasons Why Women Watch Lifetime and Men Watch Spike TV.
Lifetime is one of the most popular women's channel on Television. With movies like Gracie's Choice and shows like Army Wives it's no wonder so many women watch the channel. The Lifetime Channel is about empowerment and has real life lessons. It is perfect for the nurture of are brains of "Never ending thought. Women is to Lifetime as men is to..Spike. Our counterpart. I'm sure everyone women has gone flicking through the television to get to some man giving advice like this "Hey guys! When your girlfriend is pissed the only way to make them happy is to have sex with them." Next thing you know your boyfriend, who obviously has a lack of common sense, has jumped on top of you after you yelled at him for a whole hour about the toilet seat again! These channels are pretty different. But they also share common advertisement and give men and women a sanctuary of things that they enjoy.
Shirtless Men V.S. Half Dressed Women
These channels give each of us something to drool over. Sex sells. And these to channels sell it well. Lifetime movies have men running around half naked some of the time...Talk about Sanctuary. Sometimes its nice to watch a romantic movie- Maybe a plot where a women and a man are having problems but then end up working things out with a night of passion. The guy is usually muscular and has a very gorgeous smile- and sometimes you can use your imagination and put yourself in the same situation. FUN!
On Spike TV you have half naked women running around. Maybe some scenes where the women "just happens" to be wearing a white t-shirt and it "just happens to rain" HA! For the people who are lacking in the common sense area, This is no coincidence.
I am going against my gender on this one, By saying any feminist who gets mad about such things like that on spike shouldn't be so hypocritical if they are yelling "tit off!" atthe sexy tan with the six pack on Lifetime. There is always a double standard and sorry to break it to you lady's but we do it too. So if your boyfriend is drooling over the half clothed Tyra Banks don't get mad. I'm sure your sitting next to your own puddle of drool over the hottie with the amazing body above her.
Chick Flick V.S. Action
Lifetime movies are movies that make us cry. I like to let out my emotions sometime. Tears of joy are the best kind. And I tend to have a few of those rolling down my cheeks after a touching Lifetime movie. Spike TV has the action pact movies like Terminator and Fast and the Furious
I must say When it comes to movies I watch both of the channels. Action movies are a lot of fun to watch with your boyfriend/girlfriend (If they are in to that). They are easy to get into and Spike has the best ones on all the time. Lifetime is a nice mother and daughter or best friends type of thing. It is also good for when you want to make your boyfriend do something you want. Just for fun
They Both Send Out a Message
Both channels give messages to the gender it pertains to.Lifetime's messages are usually inspiring. Like the movie with Alexa Vega. In the movie she plays a high school girl who is turned on. The movie teaches women to stand up for themselves. Especially young girls. High School girls can be cruel and unforgiving. Lifetime is about women empowerment. The shows give women the chance to let out their emotions and strength themselves. Then there is Spike..Well. I'm going to have to go back to what I was saying with the "have sex with your girlfriend and she'll stop being mad."...What kind of advice is that? I have heard some of the most ridiculous things come from that channel. Like "The Man Show" The name basically speaks for itself. I think that Spike TV basically helps men learn what beer is the best beer and obviously how to make your girlfriend want to dump you. So word of advice: If your girlfriend is mad..Pop one of her favorite Lifetime movies in the DVD, blueray, whatever. Do NOT slip your hand down her pants.
The better Decision
I guess it varies. Things like gender and personality make a big difference. I happen to like Spike and Lifetime movies. I'd have to say when it comes to the overall message that Lifetime would be my choice. But that's basically based on "The Man Show" and the worlds dumbest advice.
