Best Mother and Son Wedding Dance Songs
Why a mother-son dance at a wedding?
I've been to a few weddings, and all of them did not have a mother-son dance. Of course, they did not have a father-daughter dance either. The point is that there definitely should be these dances and not leave them out. If there is a dance where the new bride and groom dance, why not have a mother-son and father-daughter dance, too?
There are reasons, though why there are not more of these dances. And they probably are that most weddings do not include them, so they're unaware of such a dance. Another could be that it is assumed that guests will get bored and not pay much attention to this dance. But really, this isn't about your guests, it's about the meaning of the dance itself. Now, what if you have a mohter-son dance with the son's TRUE mother? What about the new mother in law? Wouldn't SHE feel left out? Perhaps so. So, to remedy this problem, there should be a dance done with both of them (albeit separately, of course!).
The way this would work is if a song is chosen in which it could be fitting for both a father-daughter and mother-son combination dance. This way, the first dance will be with the bride and her father and the groom and his mother. Then, the next song they'll trade off and dance with the in-laws. Interesting idea, yes.
This portion of the wedding is truly emotional and heart-warming. Here's a great list of mother-son dance songs. YOu could even use this for father-daughter dances depending on the song.
