True Love, What It Is?
Poonam Uppal Author
True Love
Love is a relationship often deep-seated when souls match and strive for each other.
How does love happen?
Well, love is destined. For that purpose all relationships are destined. Some are platonic while many develop into an unfathomable tangle intertwined to the core and inseparable.
Love is the ultimate truth that all seek to feel wanted, share, and accord meaning to life. Platonic relationships are limited to a short period and share some common interests. This always leads to physical relations and in time to come whimpers down.
Eternal love between two consenting adults is a relationship that is permanent and augured by the soul. In true love, there is no room for selfishness and desire for carnal pleasure. It is a commitment for life.
A Passionaate Gospel of True Love
The romantic novel is a true love story that borders on truth. Two adults whence they fall in love are confronted with many issues but nevertheless, give the opportunity a chance. Uncertainty looms large as the developing relationship has happened at first sight and they know little about each other.
Moh Lal Rai Meets Guarang in Chennai and the inner voice tells her that he is the true love that was prophesied at a fashion show in Las Vegas in the USA. A person that believes in past, soulful prophesies and the ultimate truth of life that a traditional upbringing has taught her moving forward in this relationship is admirable.
This love story begins mid-way after a lot has been written about her nascent period. The growing years and the desire that creeps in to be someone. Her marriage is a failure and she is willing to cross conservative thoughts and discover a meaningful relationship in life. Though still trapped in a failed relationship. Gaurang is also at a crossroads and wavers regarding the status of his married life. But eventually, both are attracted to each other and the romance blooms. Since both are married the hesitancy is palpable as the novel moves forwards. There are many instances of a detached relationship that surprisingly bounces back.

Esoteric & Kama Sutra
Moh Lal Rai's belief in the esoteric is deep-rooted perhaps it emanates from ancient Indian philosophy and myths. There is frequent reference to split halves and soul mates along with premonitions and mention of bizarre occurrences. The belief that two people come together because of past bonds which makes them twin souls is a simple truth that she espouses well in this novel.
From a glamorous fashion designer to a lover she is totally lost in the world of romance. Though she justifies her association with Gaurang vehemently, the relationship drags around at a snail's pace driven perhaps by their status and conflicts of mindset grown out of birth in a deeply traditional and conservative society.
Enamored by Kamasutra, the ancient Indian art of love she turns into a love Goddess. In order to make love a pure phenomenon devoid of an illicit relationship or carnal pleasures, she preaches a new approach.
Moh Lal Rai follows her beliefs and though in love with Gaurang avoids physical contact. Why?
She is waiting for the relationship to fructify such that a lifelong bond is created.
Does she obtain her objective?
Well read the novel, it is an unending saga of eternal love a relationship destined due to earlier birth.

The Events
Moh Lal Rai the central character is enamored with her past and those who crossed paths with her. She is also devout and believes in Goddess Durga and her avatar which is Kali.
The narrative is a quixotic mix of all that had transpired in her life and her deep-seated religious belief and added to this is the romantic interlude with Gaurang.
The book is a colorful mix of events that have transpired in her life narrated with aplomb and fearless candor. Though deeply attracted to each other the affair is not consummated.
Characters
There is a colorful interplay of characters throughout the book. Her association is mostly with close relatives, friends, and acquaintances. The narration is exemplary and makes the book difficult to put down.
Moh Lai Rai is an eponymous character and the narration is perhaps the experiences of the author herself. Perhaps the narrative is a reflection of the romantic storyteller's life itself. Well, it is for the reader to judge but a remarkable story needs a long time and a deep understanding of the human mind to understand.
