A Woman's Worth

Updated on March 4, 2013

Every woman needs respect and understanding. As one of them, I would like to share with you some stories and insights throughout the twenty-three years of life I have had in this world.

I grew up to be a silly, talkative little girl who seeks everyone’s attention. I always do things to get appreciated or just anything to get noticed. As I grow as a teenager, I have been more and more aggressive. I made lots of friends, boy or girl and I love to go out more than staying at home. The young lady I was, I never gave importance on the difference between a gentleman and a woman that is why I always express my negative reaction every time someone differentiates the rights of a woman and a man.

Things changed as I grow more matured. I learned to act more like a lady and have been so weak to handle my feelings. Yeah, it’s true, women are the weaker sex. We need men to be more gentle and affectionate. We easily get hurt when we are thrown with unkind words and as sensitive as we are, we give much importance to waiting for someone to ask for an apology in every wrong deed.

Women are like delicate glasses who should be cared for in order for them not to be broken. Once they get broke, you can never fix it back to its original appearance. Feelings are not to be taken for granted. Everybody gets hurt and everybody needs special attention.

As a grown woman now, and a mother of two, I learned to become stronger as I was before. I know, deep inside I will always be the weaker sex but women can also be stern if needed. We also have the right to fight for our rights and we deserve more wonderful things. Life may be upsetting at times but we are aware that happiness will come at the right time.

I once saw a woman who gave more importance on other people’s ideas and never minding her own feelings. She always wanted to impress everyone around her and she never did. She even tried her best to show them the best in her but nobody noticed. Why? Because people are not easily contented with what is already present. We still tend to choose for better ones and end up going back to the first choices. The thing about life is that, opportunities knock only once and remember, there are billions of people around this world so expect that if you let those chances away, you have nothing to go back to. Take this lesson in dealing with women. As I said earlier, feelings shouldn’t be taken for granted because feelings also change.
