You Can Not Buy Love

Updated on June 20, 2011

When I titled this hub I said you can not buy love, but that is somewhat untrue because the more I thought about it the more I said, "well, yes some of us can buy love for a few minutes, a few hours or even a day or so. Everyone I'm sure knows what I am speaking of without really saying it and I'd rather not.

Love is something that builds overtime. To be able to love someone and love that person unconditionally doesn't just happen overnight. I may take years to get to that point in your relationship, but in order to build that love takes work and trust.

Anyone can say, "I love you" but do they really know the true meaning of the word love? I have heard young children in their teens say to someone also in their teens, "I love you" and I often wonder to myself, how can these young children know the word love the way it is meant to be. They are just really getting out of diapers in a sense and now they know how to love. I speaking about boyfriend and girlfriends, not parents by the way.

Some may say anything, such as, I love you figuring they may get something in return. We were all young at one time and we all have said the same thing about love and being so young I used to call it "puppy love, but as we get older and wiser we then know the true meaning of love and what is involved to make a relationship grow stronger each day.

For myself, my love has grown stronger and stronger through the 30 years of my marriage and till this day is still growing strong.

Isn't funny how everything has fallen into place sense I quit drinking alcohol? Best thing to do if you want to save your marriage or relationship. Just a heads up for all those that are addicted to drugs or alcohol and feel as if your world is falling apart.

Bring that true love back into your life, your marriage or your relationships. Learn to love those that truly care and love you being sober.

There is not enough money in the world to buy the true unconditional love I have for my wife. To be able to share the same interest in life makes my marriage and your marriage or relationship easier, meaning to love the same things and have the same interest just makes your life so much easier. Can you imagine being married or being in a relationship when your taste and your interest are totally different.

Being different makes life a bit tougher in your marriage or your relationship. My wife and I are soul mates from the day we met and have the exact same interest, taste in design and just love all the same things.

I have been so blessed to be able to find true love and my life long soul mate, partner, best friend and know I will be spending the rest of my life with her.

bfeaver Thank you for your comment and congrats on 38 years of marriage. There are so many marriages that seem to fail these days. You are right, when problems arise the husband and wife need to work it out together as a team and stay on the same path.

Love for your wife or husband takes real work. You have to be able to stay the course when things are bad. I made a vow when I got married to my wife and to God...I do not take that lightly. I have been married for 38 years.
