Hey there! Hmm, I'd say it depends on everyone's individual definition of "good". I can think of situations where the "good" thing to do may not be the "kindest".
For example, sometimes a friend needs to face a harsh truth that can't be sugarcoated in order to get over an ordeal. So in a way, the kindest thing to do is not be too kind with your efforts to help them.
But in general, I associate kindness as being good and benevolent, yes.
The way I see it, kindness is merely a manner of others interacting with us---but it may not mean something satisfactory to us.
For example, you can be "very kindly" fired from your job; or "kindly" informed by police that a member of your family has had a serious car accident; or told by the doctor in a very "kind" voice that you have three months left to live.
On the other hand, you can be a very "good" parent by not catering to all of your kids' wishes and whims---which at times will require methods far from being "kind".
Indeed, goodness doesn't always come in nice and colorful wrappings.

What is the difference between good debt and bad debt? Any examples?I realize good debt is reported to increase your net worth. Debt is debt, isn't it? Why call debt good when you don't have cash flow?

What is the difference between "kindness" and "courtesy" or "politeness"?This a.m. on Twitter I noticed one tweet that equated being 'kind' with being 'polite'. Do you think there IS a difference, and if so, what do you see as the distinctions?
