Date Ideas: Little to No Money Required
With how expensive things have gotten, some people often struggle to find things to do with their partners whether it be because they're young or because certain jobs aren't paying enough to get by.
Other times, it is the simple fact of families, couples, or simply the person alone live paycheck to paycheck and can't spend much on their partner.
1. Playing Cards and Board Games
One simple idea you can do that is pretty common would be playing card games or board games. If you have a deck of playing cards, UNO, or even a random board game lying around, you can indulge yourselves with those. Sometimes, these games will unlock that competitive side out from your partner that you might've already known or that you're discovering for the first time.
Certain games you can play with your partner are War and Goldfish. These are the few you can play with only two people along with UNO if you don't want the hassle of using playing cards.
2. Watching Movies or Series Together
Another date idea would be watching a series together. Maybe you and your partner have a series in common that you both want to watch or simply a series you both want to revisit. It could be a cartoon you both enjoyed growing up or a show either of you used to enjoy watching. It could be for nostalgia purposes or just because you want to rewatch it for the sake of sharing your interests with your partner.
Not only does it involve cartoons, but it can even range from anime to documentaries. The two of you can talk about which ones you were interested in and make it a date. By watching things either of you are interested in, you might find new genres and subgenres that could spark up a new liking.
3. A Walk in the Park
Going for a walk to a park and enjoy the breeze while simply talking. While this seems like it's better suited for first dates, it can also be perfect for couples who like going out just to spend some time together without spending money.
By walking in the park, you two can talk and maybe find out things you didn't know about one another whether it be because one of you have a love for nature, or just because you two don't want to stay indoors.
4. Animal Shelters or Pet Stores
If you and your partner are animal lovers, visiting an animal shelter or volunteering at one could be perfect. While it might be difficult, there are some pet stores that have pets for adoption. If you both want to simply look and be in awe of animals, go for a spin in a pet store or a shelter. If you decide to volunteer, it'll be even better for you both as you can spend more time with the animals.
5. Going for a Drive
Another idea that might be within budget is a drive. While this does require your own vehicle, it's still nice for couples. Whether it be to get away for a few hours, you can simply go for a drive with your partner to watch the sunset and/or the stars. However, if you both are night owls or insomniacs, even watching the sunrise would be perfect for you.
Driving can also give you an insight on the songs you both listen to. Being able to listen to music while driving or while already being at the location can give you or your partner new music to listen to whether it be a whole new genre of music or a new band of a genre you already listen to.
6. Pumpkin Carving
Now that fall is here, and Halloween is coming, feel free to go to a pumpkin patch to buy pumpkins. If you decide not to go to a pumpkin patch, there are supermarkets who sell pumpkins. Although the prices vary depending on where you are getting them, they'll still be within a reasonable budget. With this in mind, purchasing one or two, along with a cheap pumpkin carving kit, and you both can carve pumpkins.
This could help out with discovering how artistic one or both of you are. At the end of the day, you'll both have some laughs or just overall a good time with one another.
7. Ice Cream Date
As for the couples with a sweet tooth, you can buy cheap ice cream at the supermarket as well along with different toppings. You both can make ice cream bowls at home with the things you bought, experimenting with different combinations.
Trying new things with each other such as ice cream flavor with toppings that you'd never think to try would be a great way to discover something new about yourself or your partner.
8. Cooking and Baking
If you'd rather do something more complex, cooking or baking might satiate that urge. You both can try new recipes online or from a cook book for dinner or for dessert. Sometimes, the ingredients you need might not be too expensive or you might just have them at home to use. At the end of the day, it's something you both can do together as a way to bond or if you both love trying new things.
