Why can't we be friends??

Updated on February 25, 2010

remaining friends

Sometimes having a friend is more difficult than being one! Flipside that.......being one is harder to do! There it is black and white! It truly is give and take ! That was simple huh? Well it should be! If we have not an intimate relation or business one, keeping sex and money away from that table, everything usually can be worked out without too much ado!
However when two get along so well, making it look so simple to always be there for each other, having positive feedback and just in general being the source and sometimes resource for our friend, we just cant help it if there happens to be mutual attraction... We dive right on in , into an intimate relationship! Well, why not?? Its all there! I believe many great relationships are based in that order! After years of enjoying the intimate part, we are left with our dearest, most trusted friend....right? Now I shall say....."In a Walgreen world" !
The scenerio listed above is sweet, and very much possible too! We just have to remember not to forget our significant other is our friend, and needs to vent, share, ask questions, and last but not least, feel your support! If we treated our partner with the same level of compassion, honesty, integrity and forgiveness that once was showered upon them.... I for one believe the relationship would last and grow as high and strong as the mountains, reaching the freshest of air and tranquility known to man!
The otherside of this coin is basing a relationship on that mutual attraction and the friendship is to follow...... That is a possibility as well! Many times to find that there is not enough common ground to build a friendship filled with unconditional love! This excerpt is short, Most understand what I mean!
The main stay here is that when you build a very real friendship that turns into an intimate relationship, why do we not invest that same time keeping it real and fresh, without harsh judgement of one another, and helping each other find peace within at the end of the day? EVERYDAY! The end result is so pleasing AHHHHH ok my perfect ending is about to get messy......
We have tried to make it work to no avail, and at the end of this day we are exhausted.....so to conclude this........a song I remember well "Why can,t we be friends" Makes sense to me!!
