A Positive Attitude and a Strong Mind is the Key to Achieving Results

Updated on October 4, 2008

Start each day with a positive thought, or message. Reading and reflecting on a positive suggestion, idea, or sentiment before you start each day can put you in a positive frame of mind.

As your day progresses, you just need to take a break. Take a mental break and read an inspirational thought. Much has been written on happiness. Try reading an inspirational thought on happiness which was written many years ago but still holds true today, for example.

The power of positive thinking can help you achieve success in your life. Someone once said, "You are what you think". Reading a positive thought or story each day can help you think in a positive way.

Here is an inspirational thought from: The Art of Happiness by an Unknown Author

"The ingredients of happiness are so simple that they can be counted on one hand.

Happiness comes from within, and rests most securely on simple goodness and clear conscience. Selfishness is its enemy; to make another happy is to be happy ones' self. It is quiet, seldom found for long in crowds, most easily won in moments of solitude and reflection. It cannot be bough; indeed money has very little to do with it.

No one is happy unless he is reasonably well satisfied with himself, so that the quest for tranquility must of necessity begin with self-examination. We shall not often be content with what we discover in this scrutiny. There is so much to do, and so little done. Upon this searching self-analysis, however, depends the discovery of those qualities that make each man unique and whose development alone can bring satisfaction.

Of all those who have tried, down the ages, to outline a program for happiness, few have succeeded so well as William Henry Channing, who wrote the following:

"To live content with small means;

to see elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion;

to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich;

to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly;

to listen to the stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart;

to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never;

in a word to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common."

It will be noted that no one can do this for you; you must do it for yourself."

Please further read these sayings and quotes regarding the topic of Happiness. Enjoy the words of wisdom found within them. What does the feeling of happiness depend on? Is it material things, is it others, is it our work, is it ourselves?

I hope these sayings provide answers and that they motivate you to find the happiness and gladness that is there waiting for you in your life.

The Laws of Positive Thinking states: "You can change who you are by changing what you say when you talk to your mind." Simply put if you don't like what you hear when your mind talks to you, you can use positive self-talk to change the message and push your inner voice in a positive direction. You can make your life as positive as you want.

What you say to your mind is your roadmap to the future. Each word takes you to a specific destination. Make sure your self-talk is positive so it takes you where you want to go.

If you really want to be positive, nobody can stop you.
