A Precious Soul In Jesus Eyes

Updated on June 1, 2011

A Precious Soul In Jesus Eyes

Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

The other guests began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?'

Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you, go in peace." Luke 7:48-50

One day Jesus was invited by a Pharisee named Simon to have a dinner with him. When a certain woman who had lived a sinful life learned about this, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her tears, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

Who is this sinful woman? Why she shew so much adoration to Jesus ? Maybe she used to be a prostitute or a woman who had many lovers and lived in gross immorality. Because of her sinful life, the jewish society looked at her with scorn and contempt. Maybe she is not allowed to worship in the temple by Jewish spiritual leaders. She was an outcast in the Jewish community. The Pharisees and Jewish spiritual leaders did not show him any compassion. No one shew him love and understanding. She was condemned and judged by the Jewish spiritual leaders. But there is SOMEONE who looks at her differently, to this SOMEONE she is a precious soul, a priceless jewel. He is JESUS, the CHRIST.

My dear friend, you may feel that you are an outcast from your society, you may feel that you have been very dirty with sin, consider Jesus. He is very much willing to forgive you and to Him, you are a precious soul,a priceless jewel.

The woman appreciated so much Jesus acceptance to her that she poured an alabaster of perfume to her feet. Seemingly no one else before throughout her entire life had she experienced such acceptance from a great moral teacher and spiritual leader as the CHRIST. All the Jewish spiritual leaders hated her. Only Jesus show her compassion. Only Jesus understand her. Only Jesus value her. All the others are condemning her. Only Jesus is willing to forgive her. Only Jesus is willing to give her a new beginning.

Truly Jesus has an awesome heart !

Your reminder today brought tears to my eyes. I love Jesus for I was no different than this unnamed woman. She is unnamed because any of us can place our names there. Worship of Jesus is a sure proof of knowing that we are forgiven. Thumbs up.

      Thank you. ~ eddie
