A Prosperous Living
What it is...
Living a prosperous life is not about driving a Mercedes Benz. It is about making the best of all you have been endowed. And, that is different for each one of us. For, we have not been equally graced.
Like my friend shared, "we are each in a class of one." We don't have classmates. We don't have grace-mates. We don't have track-mates. We are in a class of one, and whether we pass or fail has no reference to anyone else, but our own very self.
If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.
— Job 36:11, NKJVNo Competition...
Hence, there is no basis for comparison. There is no basis for competition. There is no basis for jealousy. There is only a basis for gratitude. There is only a basis for contentment. There is only a basis for rejoicing with others. There is only a basis for knowing our source, and never be in doubt as to the process of life.
What I don't have now, I don't need now. When I need it, or before I need it, it will appear without fail. That is assuming, I have not gone off my place of calling. That is assuming, I am still in order, and in line. That is assuming that I am still waiting, and waiting faithfully. It is assuming that I am gratefully using that which I have been endowed today. It is assuming that I am found faithful at my station.
Before he left on his journey, he entrusted a bag of five thousand gold coins to one of his servants, to another a bag of two thousand gold coins, and to the third a bag of one thousand gold coins, each according to his ability to manage.
— Matthew 25:15, TPTNo Hurries...
There is no hurry in life. And, I should be qualified to know that, after more than fifty years (50) years on this pilgrimage. With all my mountaintop and valley experiences, my rollercoaster emotions, my heavenly confident, and dark days. I ought to have picked a thing or two along the way. Things I can hold close to. Things that make a difference. Like my native people will say, "a child cannot have that many clothes as to have more rags than the old person."
To live in prosperity is to know there are no hurries in life. NOTHING in life is worth hurrying for. Things done out of hurry or haste are typically things done out of fear, not out of faith. And, you know how that typically ends. Right?
Just a rule of life. Things that are done out of fear typically don't end well. They are typically things done by people with no foundation, faulty foundation, or they are unsure of what they have. They are unsure of who they are. They are unsure of whose own they are.
For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:
“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
But you would not,
— Isaiah 30:15, NKJVRested...
The Bible has this to say, "He that believes will not make haste." [Isaiah 28:16; Romans 19:33] Depending on which Bible translation you lay your hands on, you'll see the Hebrew word also translated as, "disturbed, sudden panic, panic, ashamed, shakable, tremble, rush, disappointed, worry, impatient, run away, topple, waver, anxious. The two most common usage being panic and haste.
Therefore thus says the Lord God:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation,
A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;
Whoever believes will not act hastily.
— Isaiah 28:16, NKJVWhen you are living a prosperous life none of the above will define you. You know your source. You know your foundation. Your source and your foundation know you, and answers for you in the day of trouble, that comes on all men.
So, living prosperously is not about rushing to your tomorrow. It is not about escaping your yesterday either. It is about living every moment of "today" in peace knowing that it is all that presently is. It is all that cleanses your yesterdays. It is all that produces your tomorrow. It is all you have. It is in it that you are most powerful. It is in that you are most creative. It is in it that you are most you. And, where else can you find the zenith of life?
A Faithful Steward...
It is using what you have today, to grow the future you desire. It is about having dominion over your present circumstances to produce the future you desire. It is about having a dream, a plan, and executing the same. That you can do, irrespective of where you find yourself.
It is not about using what you don't have, moaning for it. You have to always start with what you have, not what you don't have, and let your imagination go wild. You don't have to be conventional. You don't have to tread the old worn path. You can start a new path. Never forget, "Imagination is limitless."
Release yourself to think. It is still legal. Release yourself to dream. Release yourself to fly. Release yoursel to live. Release yourself to be. Our imagination (our ability to think and reason) is our leverage. That is what separates us from mere animals. We can make our environment what we want.
