Adam, Adam! Where are you?
He made man in such a way that man could literally understand the heart of his creator and return the thoughts and feelings back to Him in intimate communication. Man knew God, and God knew man.
I’m not talking about knowing about God, or knowing some things that would make Him happy, and I’m not just talking about having daily conversations with God. I am talking about God saying in His heart ‘Alas, I have someone I can share all my desire with’. Then God went about to do just that, He shared all His heart with man and then shared all His creation with man also.
They enjoyed many times together from talking about creation and the garden to naming the animals. When woman was created from the rib of Adam, the fellowship continued. The joy God must have felt seeing His creation enjoy each other as He enjoyed them. Times were awesome! Love and dominion were enjoyed in divine union of God and Adam, and man and woman.
It was like God divided Himself to more enjoy what was inside of Himself, then He divided Adam into male and female so Adam could enjoy what was inside if himself.
You see. God was sharing every experience with Adam. Nothing was withheld from Adam (man and woman).
Then the day came when a lie was sown as a seed into the womb of Adam, the woman. She shared with her husband and they both ate the lie.
There was an immediate transformation that happened on the inside of them. All of a sudden they felt exposed for the first time, ashamed, fearful, and condemned. They had eaten poison, and that lying substance had taken over there whole being.
Surely ‘God was going to be mad’ they thought, so they hid.
You must understand that they were not used to living in the dark. They had never experience it. They were alone, separate from God, even feeling separate from each other. Surely they were already arguing about the mess they found themselves in.
Hope was gone, love was gone, freedom was gone, innocence was gone, and life was gone. Guilt, shame, grief, despair, hopelessness, anger, accusations, fear etc.. had replaced them. These were the pre-manifestations of death, thus ‘dieing you will die’. These are the pre-manifestations of death in us today also. If you are in them, you are dieing. -Come out into the light and be restored.-
The Cool of the Day
But this time Adam was no where to be found. The Fathers heart collapsed in grief. What had happened? Where are my friends? Where had they gone?
‘Adam, Where Are You’ was the cry that gushed out of His collapsing heart. This same collapsed and gushing heart was experienced by Jesus on the cross, even to the piercing of His heart when the blood and water flowed.
Ever lost a child in the grocery store, or at a family gathering, or a child did not return home at the time you had agreed upon. If so then you somewhat know what Father God was feeling at this time.
‘Adam! Where are You?’ Adam had hid from the voice.
Maybe Adam was able to sense some tenderness (to his own disbelief) in the Fathers voice, so they decided to come out and start talking. ‘We were naked and afraid’ was the meat of there response. ‘Why’ was Gods answer ‘who told you that you were naked?, did you eat of the tree I warned you about?
The lie that had so filled there belly made them immediately cast blame wherever they could. The man blamed God and the woman, the woman blamed the serpent. Accusations ruled there minds, they were thoroughly corrupted in the way they now viewed things.
The Release of Hope
I personally believe that man and woman would not have lasted very long if God had not wooed then out and released some hope to them. They had cursed the very ground they were walking on. They had never tilled or struggled to produce anything, everything before now had been a paradise. Hope filled ‘Word’ had to be spoken to them if they were to survive.
They earth is cursed for your sake is the way King James translates the statement when God was speaking to the man in Genesis 3. The same phrase is also translated ‘because of you the ground is cursed’. You shall till the ground by the sweat of your brow, thorns and thistles it will produce. but you will eat the herb from it.
‘What, me sweat? To eat? Not familiar with that one. But now that I know, I will push on to produce food.’
‘Childbirth in pain?, didn’t know about that one either, but now that I know, I’ll endure it with hope for the joy of having children’.
You see things were now harder than they were before, but life can still work, till Messiah comes and restores all things.
Of course, then there was the promise of a messiah given to the woman, the most hopeful part of God’s speaking with mankind in Genesis 3. Life jumped in Adam the mans heart again, and he boldly looked to the woman and said “You are Eve” the mother of all living, and the Father said ‘Amen’.
