Title of Sermon:"IT IS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE" ... spoken on 4/20/2013

The foundation text for this message comes from Romans 6:8-14. The
Apostle Paul wrote. "(8) Now if we died with Christ, we believe that
we shall also live with Him, (9) knowing that Christ, having been
raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over
Him. (10) For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but
the life that He lives, He lives to God. (11) Likewise you also,
reckon (consider) yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to
God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (12) Therefore, [YOU] DO NOT LET SIN
REIGN in your mortal body, that YOU SHOULD OBEY it in its lusts. (13)
And [YOU] do not PRESENT YOUR MEMBERS as instruments of
unrighteousness to sin, but PRESENT YOURSELVES to God as being alive
from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to
God. (14) For sin SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION over you, for you are not
under the law but under grace. [Capitalization is used for emphasis.]
The Bible tells us that the old man was crucified with Christ and that
the body of sin might be rendered inoperative in that were are no
longer slaves to sin. (Romans 6:6) What this is telling us is that the
power of sin no longer has rule over us. We now can make the decision
to obey God or obey the old man. We DO NOT have to yield to our old
ways. However, some times we repeatedly do yield to sin and when we do
that and do not keep our sin account short, we invite the enemy to
habitate with us. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:11 that these events that
happened to Israel were written for us to admonish us. "Now all these
things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our
admonition (instruction)..." Therefore, let me explain this principle of
"inviting the enemy" from the Book of Nehemiah.
Nehemiah brought the third and final wave of refugees from Babylon
back to Jerusalem. Ezra brought the first group and Zerubbabel brought
the second group. Nehemiah heard that the survivors that had left from
the captivity were in great distress. He was broken hearted over his
homeland. He wept and prayed. Nehemiah was the cupbearer to the king.
Servants never come before the king with "sad face." You could
literally lose your life for this act. Maybe the king's servants were
the first to coin the phrase, "Don't worry, be happy!" When Nehemiah
went into King Artaxerxes and presented wine for him to drink,
Nehemiah's countenance was sad. The king asked Nehemiah why was he
sad. Nehemiah became dreadfully afraid because he knew the possible
consequences for his behavior. Nehemiah explained to the king about
the utter ruins of his homeland - his heritage. The king asked
Nehemiah what he wanted him to do about. Nehemiah gave him his
requests and the king honored those requests. This solidifies another
principle. God always has a plan to prosper you and not harm you,
according to Jeremiah 29:11, IF we seek Him and Nehemiah had faith to
have a plan.
So, Nehemiah and his entourage left for Jerusalem. When Nehemiah
arrived at Jerusalem, Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite
were "deeply disturbed" that a man had come to seek the well-being of
the children of Israel (Nehemiah 2:10). {Isn't that just like the
enemy to get irritated when you recognize that you have an issue and
have decided to do something about it.)
When Nehemiah and his crew started rebuilding the wall, Sanballet was
FURIOUS and VERY INDIGNANT and MOCKED the Jews. He said, "What are
these feeble, weak Jews doing? Nehemiah 4:1-2 {Think about this. The
enemy wants us to leave ourselves open to his attacks anytime and
anywhere. And, he doesn't mind "trash talking" to you either. Some
Christians say that we should be careful and not agitate the enemy, but Jesus
said nothing shall you (Luke 10:18). [Keep reading before you form an
opinion.] When Nehemiah finished the walls and was ready to set the gates, the
enemy wanted to break bread and celebrate with him in Ono. Nehemiah
6:1-2. Why? He wants us to lay down our weapons (see Ephesians
6:10-17). He wants us to seek peace with him. Hey, we are the world.
We need to reason together and combine our philosophies. "Did God
really say" is the age old question that the enemy asks (See Genesis
3:1 ) The devil is a liar. He wants us to doubt God's Word and
distract us so that he can destroy us (John 10:10). Jesus said that
when you put your hand to the plow, do not look back (Luke 9:62). Why?
We lose our focus, determination, and perspective. Nehemiah finished
the tasks and secured the perimeter with walls fixed and gates hung
(Nehemiah 7:1). When those tasks were completed, the enemy was
disheartened. Of course he is depressed because he recognizes and
knows that it is God doing the work through you and me. Press on.
Nehemiah went back to Babylon to see the king (Nehemiah 13:6). When
Nehemiah returned, he found out that the priest had made room for
Tobiah - the enemy - INSIDE THE TEMPLE! Nehemiah became sheriff and
evicted Tobiah from the temple. Nehemiah 13:8-9 says, " And it grieved
me [Nehemiah] bitterly; therefore I threw ALL THE HOUSEHOLD goods of
Tobiah out of the room. Then I commanded them to cleanse the rooms;
and I brought back into them the articles of the house of God, with
the grain offering and the frankincense." We need to do the same
thing. We need to kick our enemy to "the pit."
How did Tobiah get in there? Tobiah, the enemy, was sending propaganda
letters and doing intelligence reconnaissance work with the Israelites
(Nehemiah 6:17-19). Realize this. The enemy is subtle and crafty.
Tobiah was using his family and friends connections and working behind
the scenes. We have family and friends that the enemy will use to get
us to compromise our walk with God. Before we know it, we have invited
the real enemy to come and "sit a spell." Our enemy becomes a
squatter.
There is an important way for you and me to change our present
personal situations and prepare for a great emotional, physical, and
spiritual future. It is by cleaning house. Now I am not talking about
the house where you and I reside even though that may require some
physical cleaning. I am talking about our temple. The Bible says in 1
Cor. 6:19, "Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy
Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your
own?" Cleaning our temples involves removing spiritual, emotional, and
mental clutter that I will talk about tonight.
No one wants to be viewed as a failure. According to Acts 2:17 and
Joel 2:28, we were created to dream, and we were given gifts to make
this happen. However, we allow stuff to happen that cause disruptions
and create obstacles in the road to our destiny.
I am not talking about external factors in our lives. I am talking
about internal root problems that can hinder us from success in our
lives. Were you aware that over 50% of marriages end in divorce and
millions of Americans cannot sleep without being medicated. Maybe we
should find out where the root problem is.
I want to help you to understand what the possible roots to our
circumstances are and offer important insights and illumination from
God's Word that can bring a change that will positively impact you and
me and our families. We all desire freedom from addictions, bad
habits, stinking thinking, and other hindrances. On several occasions during Christ's ministry, Jesus took care of some
clutter. An epileptic boy, whom the spirits had been physically
attacking since early childhood, was having some serious issues. Jesus
cast out the demons that were attacking him (Mark 9:14-27). On another
occasion, Jesus freed a woman's young daughter who had been possessed
by many evil spirits (Matthew 5:22). Again, Jesus healed a demoniac on
the SABBATH (Luke 4:31-37)! How dare He do something like that ON THE
SABBATH.
Throughout history, the adversary - the devil - has set his focus
especially on infants and children. The pharaoh in Egypt assigned
Egyptian midwives and then all Egyptian people to cast every newborn
Hebrew son into the Nile river ( Exodus 1). The heathen nations, i.e.
Canaanites, sacrificed their children to the cult of Molech. Later,
the Israelites copied this ritual for themselves eventhough God had
instructed them not to follw in those heathen rituals. Herod heard
that the King of the Jews had been born in Bethlehem and he commanded
Roman soldiers to slay all male infants under 2 years of age (Matthew
2:16). This just highlights a few instances in history. In addition,
American children today are faced with their own decree of death since
1973 when abortion was legalized. The devil has blinded the eyes of
doctors, politicians, and expectant mothers who participate in the
death of the infants. Over 50 million children have been murdered
since 1973. Or, should I say "sacrificed." Why? Contained in the Scriptures End Time prophecies is a major
prophetic promise directed at youth - our sons and daughters - that
will take place prior to the return of the Messiah. It is found in
both the Old and New Testaments. In Acts 2:17 -18 it says, " And it
shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of
My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And
on My menservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they
shall prophesy."
A unique outpouring of the Holy Spirit is promised to the youth prior
to the return of Christ. This outpouring will be initiated by our sons
and daughters and grandsons and granddaughters. The younger generation
will witness an increase of spiritual visions and dreams, revealing
the plans of God and exposing the strategies of the adversary. It is
no wonder that the youth are being attacked. Look at the music - the
Hip-hop perfidy, grunge garbage, rock rubbish, and the country music
twaddle. We must be very selective to the musical lyrics that we
listen to.
The enemy uses this tactic to block their ears from hearing God's
Word. Also, he binds them with addictions to drugs or alcohol; He
prevents them from feeling the peaceful and joyful presence of the
Holy Spirit. Satan is conducting a mass bondage program to defeat the
next generation - those next leaders to bring a nation out of its
lukewarm spiritual lethargy.
Many women who today are engaged in prostitution were raped or
molested as children or teens. Pornographic addictions breed sexual
abuse and perversion. Many boys who are sodomized end up with
emotional issues or become homosexuals. Kindergarteners are now being
taught about homosexuality and lesbianism in the name of diversity.
Many men and women in prison are there for using and selling illegal
drugs. Many of their addictions began early in life. The enemy is fully aware of the importance of early teaching and
indoctrination, and he plans strategies against our seed when they are
young. Do not get me started with the movie industry, TV, or cartoons
like Sponge Bob Square Britches.
All these cruel attacks create holes -- breaches -- in the emotions of
a person. Neglect, physical and sexual abuse, and harsh demeaning
words, punch holes -- openings -- in a person's soul that become
bigger and bigger. Eventually a person feels unclean inside, unworthy,
rejected, and he or she seeks affirmation through promiscuity, a gay
lifestyle, alcohol, and drugs. They believe that these actions will
dull the pain in their emotions and that they might begin to feel
better. However, the holes are still there and thus addiction becomes
their companion. Did you know that addiction is defined as "to
surrender to something."
Did you know that hurting people become attracted to other individuals
who are experiencing the same form of pain. They team up with other
wounded people who are drinking, taking illegal drugs, or are sexually
active in an illicit manner. Why? They think that they are filling the
void - those holes that have been created. Some go as far as marrying
someone just like themselves - because "he or she understands me."
Two people with holes in their emotions can never make each other
whole or complete.
What is causing all this havoc? I believe that the book of The
Revelation has the answer to this question.
Please turn to Revelation Chapter 9 and verse 20 through 21. The John
the Revelator wrote, "But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by
these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they
should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone,
and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And THEY DID NOT
REPENT OF THEIR MURDERS OR THEIR SORCERIES OR THEIR SEXUAL IMMORALITY
OR THEIR THEFTS. (Capitalization used for emphasis.) Verse 21 lists five prominent sins in the last days.
The first sin mentioned is Idol Worship. I am not only talking about
statues. Idols are those things that steer our hearts away from God.
The weekends were made for @@@@@@@@ says one famous commercial.
America has a fetish for pleasure. We have grown cold for the things
of God. His church has become lukewarm. The Christian likes to be
entertained and made to feel good on a Sunday. Preachers don't want to
make the people feel uncomfortable at times by preaching the truth. We
need to stand and tell the truth in love and compassion, but they
still need to tell the truth.
The church needs to see their ministers of God full of the Holy
Spirit and His fire. People love to see a fire. We need to show them
the fire of God at times. I do not know about you, but I do not like
lukewarm coffee or lukewarm food or lukewarm water. Jesus said if the
His church is lukewarm, He will spit it out of His mouth (Revelation
3:16).
America has made money its god. Have you ever heard the phrase "the
almighty dollar?" Maybe that is why we are printing 85 billion of our
gods every month. How many cars do we own? How many Flat screen TVs do
we have? How many pairs of sneakers do we have? We are always
thirsting for more and more data. How much meaningless information do
we need? Is food our god? Okay, I will stop. I am no longer preaching
but meddling now. Seriously, look at waist lines. Deuteronomy 31: 20
states that we live in a land of abundance and have grown fat. What is
our idol? Only God can satisfy. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
I come against Baal and his cohorts who rise up against our God.
It is time to clean house! Repent! The good news is that Jesus Christ
forgives us if we humble ourselves, come to Him, confess our sin and
ask for forgiveness. He will forgive us. He is a merciful and gracious
and a loving God.
The second sin mentioned is murder: cold blooded killing, voluntary
manslaughter, slaying the innocent. The murder rate and gang violence
has soared in Chicago since I was there. We have no problem using
violence to solve our "beefs". Why? Violence permeates our media and
computer games. We program our brains with thousands of hours of
shootings and murders and play acting murders and not expect that to
affect our behavior. The family structure has broken down. The Bible
says in Joshua 1:8 to "think on these things [God's Word]". The
principle is that as we think about His Word, it becomes a part of our
being. The application is that there is no way we can watch mass
violence and say that does not affect us. We just called God a liar.
God ordained the family and not the village!
And now we slay the innocent child. The Bible says in Genesis 1:26,
"Let Us make man in Our image." We are made in the image of God the
Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Canaanites and
Ammonites sacrificed their children by fire to Molech. Israel followed
in their footsteps. Why would they do that? To appease their gods of
Baal-Hammon, Rapiu, Adrammelech, Anammelech, Igigi, Milcom, Malik,
Milku, and Mari. These are not gods but fallen angels - demons. This
is demonic. The god of this world has blinded their eyes (2
Corinthians 4:4). Did you know that the inscription of the stelae
(stone monuments and pillars)found at the cultic centers called
Tophets was: "Lambs about to be slain." Lambs! Lambs! The demons want
blood sacrifices. What better blood sacrifice than a "lamb" made in
the image of God. That is why the demons do not like us. We are made
in His image. The devil is a liar and a thief. He came to steal, kill,
and destroy. We have been blinded by him.
The abortionist uses a variety methods to kill the baby. People need
to view the video "Silent Scream" where saline solution (salt water)
is used to "burn" the delicate flesh off the baby. It bleeds to death.
It is gruesome to see the baby's mouth open screaming in pain [Have
you ever gotten salt on a wound?]. You cannot hear anything because
there is no air in the lungs yet to vibrate the vocal chords. The baby
writhes in excruciating pain until it bleeds to death. Or, the
abortionist uses a curette (curved knife) that is inserted into the
womb and starts hacking at the little baby. The baby tries to escape
but it is cornered - trapped - for this butchery. It bleed to death.
Or, the abortionist brings the head outside the birth canal and
inserts a suction tube into the base of the skull and sucks out the
brains out thereby collapsing the skull. We need to hear this. We have
been lied to. There is a doctor on trial for snipping the spinal chord
of the baby while he holds the baby down who is fighting for its life.
See the little arms flailing and legs moving. No anesthetic. Listen to
what the baby is saying, "I want to live. What did I do wrong mama.
Let me live. Doctor, you talk about human rights. Where are my rights
as a human being?" Science calls the baby a fetus. The demons are
saying, "Feed us!" The mother's womb is like the Holy of Hollies. God
says that there He knits us together. How marvelous are His works! In
the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I come against the spirits of
Baal-Hammon, Rapiu, Adrammelech, Anammelech, Igigi, Milcom, Malik,
Milku, and Mari.
It is time to clean house. Repent! The good news is that Jesus Christ
forgives us if we humble ourselves, come to Him, confess our sin, and
ask for forgiveness. He will forgive us. He is a merciful and gracious
and loving God.
The third sin is sorceries. The Greek word that has been translated
"sorceries" is pharmakeia. This is where we get our English word
pharmacy and pharmacist. What is actually being referenced here is
illegal drugs. America is the biggest consumer of illegal drugs with a
powerful network distributing these illegal drugs. This network is
controlled by a prince demon. Do you remember that Daniel's answer
from an angel was held up by the Prince of Persia demon for twenty one
days. Many years ago the Shamanistic rituals in India, China, and Asia
used marijuana. It has been recorded that it helped them communicate
with the spirits. Taoist priest wrote that marijuana was used by
necromancers to discover the future. The common experience of
marijuana usage was that they would be taken over by an outside force
or will that was hostile or evil. Marijuana opens the door to other
types of stronger drugs. Over 20% of marijuana users that were
surveyed admitted to seeing demons. It is no wonder there is a push to
legalize marijuana. The enemy needs an open door. I come against that
demon in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. You need to rebuke that
drug spirit in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and command it to go
back to the pit.
It is time to clean house. Repent! The good news is that Jesus Christ
forgives us if we humble ourselves, come to Him, confess our sin, and
ask for forgiveness. He will forgive us. He is a merciful and gracious
and loving God.
The fourth sin is sexual immorality. That is fornication, adultery,
exposure, fantasy lust, homosexuality, lust, masturbation, rape. We
know in our heart that having sex before marriage is not right. It is
not God's best for us. You see, when we have this sexual relationship,
a chemical called oxytocin is released in the brain thereby creating
a soul tie. It is the same chemical that is released in a goose and
gander. This is why we see the same pair of geese here at Lewisburg on
top of the hay bales year after year. They fly thousands of miles and
return to the exact same spot and hatch their goslings. It is an
amazing thing to watch. We go around creating all these soul ties with
multiple partners. Sex is nothing new. Israel copied the heathen
nations and had male and female sex centers at the temples.
Homosexuality has gone front page. The word of God sheds some light on
this event. In Leviticus 18:22-23 it states, "Thou shalt not lie with
mankind, as with womankind. It is an abomination. Neither shalt thou
lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith. Neither shall any
woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto. IT IS CONFUSION."
Leviticus 20:12 states, "And if a man lie with his daughter-in-law,
both shall surely be put to death. They have wrought CONFUSION. Their
blood shall be upon them." This confusion means to be mentally unclear
and uncertain. It is a confusion causing hatred. I come against the
spirits of Ashtoreth, Ishtar, Astarte, Min, Resheph and Asherah in the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is time to clean house. Repent! The good news is that Jesus Christ
forgives us if we humble ourselves, come to Him, confess our sin, and
ask for forgiveness. He will forgive us. He is a merciful and gracious
and loving God.
The fifth sin is thefts. We know that is wrong to steal. Theft is
covetousness, discontent, greed, kleptomania, material lust, and
stealing. There was a man here who just left that would take
things(steal) if "they weren't nailed down." He was asked, "Why do you
steal so much?" He said that he does not feel good about himself if
doesn't steal at least three things everyday. He had the spirit of
kleptomania. You know, we have the best colleges and universities in
the world where people are taught moral relativism. This education is
funded by the government. These graduates end up in government, Wall
Street, and main street. The government then jails people - excludes
themselves - for doing what they were taught. Morality is relative!
How is that working out. We need to bring back the "plumb line" -- The
Ten Commandments. You have a certain ideology rewriting our history.
Stealing our heritage! Relative, all is relative just like a sand
dune. I come against the spirits of covetousness, discontent, greed,
kleptomania, material lust, and stealing in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
It is time to clean house. Repent! The good news is that Jesus Christ
forgives us if we humble ourselves, come to Him, confess our sin, and
ask for forgiveness. He will forgive us. He is a merciful and gracious
and loving God.
Evil spirits feed off of sin in the same manner people eat food for
their nourishment. The more sin that nourishes the demon, the stronger
it becomes. In larger cities where there is more sin, sexual
perversion, drug abuse, etc., their strength and authority is
increased. We, as Christians, must turned from our wicked ways and
repent and charge after the enemy. We have the authority and God's
power to do so. The kingdom of God suffereth violence but the violent
taketh by force.
The one thing that the Lord's Spirit impressed upon my spirit is that
you cannot counsel the demonic presence in a person. The strong man
has to be bound in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and commanded to
go back to the pit in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We must
practice the New Testament Great Commission stated in Mark 16:15-18.
God's Word and Jesus Christ's authority (exousia) work (Luke
10:18-21). God said that He honors His Word above His name.
The Bible says that where sin abounds grace does much more abound. I
know that God is a Forgiver, a Redeemer, a Healer, and a Restorer. He
did for me, and He will do it for you. Why? God says that He is not a
respecter of persons. A song lyric says that it is no secret what God
can do, what He has done for others He will do for you. If you want to
know this Redeemer just say, "Dear God, I messed up. I confess my sin
to You and asked that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse me. I know
that Christ died for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Thank You
Jesus for saving me. In Jesus name. Amen.
