Are Angels among us?
Visited by an Angel
In my lifetime I have had too many miracles to not believe in Angels. From the days of my youth, I believe I was visited by an Angel while sitting in a bar in Buffalo. He looked at me as if to say 'what are you doing here, wasting your life'. It was predominantly a black bar, he was a white man, with a straw hat, and a blue suit, and when I looked away from him for a second and then back at him, he had disappeared.
A twisted face
Years ago my estranged husband and I were separated, at the time I had left my clothes over his house and so I went there to retrieve them. He tried to talk to me about reconciling, but at the time I had had enough.
While sitting there talking to him, suddenly his face twisted as he started to shout at me. His face resembled an animal snarling as if it were trapped in a snare. I screamed, jumped up and made a run for the door, unsuccessfully, he grabbed me and put his hand over my mouth, cutting off my air supply.
We struggled and somehow I made it out the door, as I stumbled into the the hall of the house where he lived, he grabbed me again. I screamed the name of Jesus, my legs and arms depleted of strength.
Suddenly I saw him double over, nearly falling to the floor as if he was in great pain. I looked at him for a few seconds, then ran down the stairs and out the door, straight to the police station.
Years later we became friends and we talked about that horrific day. He told me that a great pain went through his body, forcing him to let go of me. He doubled over and I took the opportunity to esape. I believe my guardian angel struck him, giving me time to get away.
An angel kept us from falling over a cliff
In 1988 I was fortunate to visit Israel, the land I had always dreamed about. While there with a friend we set out at night for a two hour drive from Tiberas to Bethlehem. I wanted to spend Christmas there and see the place where Christ was born.
My friend at that time had a substance abuse problem, drinking and taking pills that had him constantly battling sleepiness. Trying to keep him awake exhausted me and before I knew it, I was waking up realizing I had dozed off, only to find the car going in a wild tailspin.
The car just kept spinning in circles and as it went into the second spin I screamed the name of Jesus, loud and long, the car immediately came to a stop. Where we were travelling the countryside was very mountainous, with no fences. No fence, or gate would have stopped us from going over the cliffs, to our deaths below.
So do I believe in angels, you bet! They are God's messengers sent from on high to warn, guide and help us when in danger. They have saved me more than once as I have called on God for help!
