Are you Living according to God's Word?
There are many people who can speak biblical scripture from memory as if they are reading it.
The question one must ask him/herself is, “Am I living my life the way Jesus wants me to?”.
The devil also knows scripture, he has been around a long time, he-in order to be able to twist God’s words and teaching would have to know it very well, which he does. In
James 2:19 King James Version, we read; Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
The hypocrites in the days of old also knew scripture very well, and they would cover themselves in sackcloth and ashes and disfigure their faces (Look mournful) for everyone to see. However, did they live their lives devoted to God? Did they live the way God had planned for them?
Matthew 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Don’t do things for people to see. Don't live your life in such a manner that it pleases yourself and others. But instead, live for God, live the way He wants you to. Don’t worry or care what people think. If you live the way Jesus has planned for you to live, then what else matters?
Matthew 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
God is the one who created you and everything else on this planet. He knows everything about you, even before you were born.
*Now Read: Psalm 139 in its entirety*
Whatever you do, do it for the Lord. This is the only thing that matters. He has a plan for you. He knows what is best for you. He not only sees the past, or the present, He also knows your future. Our future is not on the earth or worldly things, our future is eternity with Him. That is the plan, sadly though, many will not make it. Many people are world focused and not heavenly focused.
When we follow Christ, we live for Him and only Him. Then we are saved.
Colossians 3:17-24 King James Version (KJV)
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Many people believe they are saved, but many misunderstand true salvation. If we are saved…truly saved then we will not wilfully sin, this is true salvation. If we continue to wilfully sin but believe we are saved because once upon a time we gave our heart to the Lord. Then this is a lie we are living, it is false conversion.
How can a person be saved if they refuse to follow the one who saved them?
Don’t live a lie, don’t listen to satan. Listen to Jesus, He and only He knows what is best for you. Follow Him and His will for your life. Repent, come back to Jesus and live the life He has for you.
