As Sheep Among Wolves

Updated on December 29, 2012
Beware of False Prophets
Beware of False Prophets

The Harvest Is RIPE!

The Bible says in Luke 10:2-3 "And He was saying to them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your ways; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.'"

Who in their right mind would want to be a lamb sent out in the midst of wolves?! Are they crazy? The wolves certainly think so, as they sit there with their mouths watering....Lambs are actually kind of innocent and trusting, many times to their demise. This is why they MUST have a Good Shepherd! If they wander off without His eye on them, they will surely be devoured!

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to save "the wolves" of the world. I was one of them! He Himself became the very Lamb of God, sent to the slaughter to be sacrificed for our "wolfly" sins. When we receive Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, as our Savior and Lord, He becomes our Good Shepherd, and we are then changed from wolves to lambs! This requires a great deal of trust in our Good Shepherd! In John 10:11 Jesus states, "I am the Good Shepherd; the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."

Before Jesus Christ our Savior came to earth, lambs were sacrificed once a year to carry over the sins of the people to the following year. When He came as prophesied, born of a virgin, conceived by God Himself and indeed was "Immanuel" (God with us), a man among men, a "Lamb among wolves", He came to communicate the message of salvation to "the wolves", knowing full-well they would kill Him. The good news is, no more lambs ever had to be slain because He paid the price for sin once and for all. And, He rose from the dead, so there is no more fear in death. He promises to even raise His lambs from death to life, just as He did!

So, this is good news, right? It's amazing to me how many wolves don't want to believe this, though even time itself was changed because of this great happening. B.C. became A.D.! The Bible was written to record all they could about Jesus and its never been destroyed!

I meet so many wolves along my journey as a lamb of God. Some of them are young enough, they don't have the animal instincts they acquire as they grow older, and actually receive me and listen to what my Good Shepherd told me to tell them. My Good Shepherd said that they really must become as a young lamb in order to be changed. Others, the ones who've been around long enough to be stuck in their ways will be harder to communicate with because they just see me as food. They salivate, tease, taunt, hunt, even try to injur me just to get pleasure out of it. I continue to try to tell them the good news, how they, too can become a lamb and come into the flock of the Good Shepherd. Sometimes it seems like I'm just about to get pounced on and destroyed, but my Good Shepherd shows up and scatters the wolves. There's no going back at that point. They just won't listen.

I wondered why my Good Shepherd didn't kill them, and yet I was glad, too. He told Me He's still giving them time. They have until their natural death to choose Him or not. At least I knew I did what I could and He was pleased.

My Good Shepherd also gave me a stern warning. He told me in Matthew 7:15 that ""Beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves." If I follow after them and leave His fold, they will surely devour me! He told me to test everything they say to see if it agrees with what He's told me. If not, they are not of the Good Shepherd! He said these imposters would tell me He never existed, or that He did exist, but isn't alive anymore. He said they would tell me that wolves are strong and lambs are weak. This is the message they tell to other wolves, too, to keep them from listening to the lambs. There are so many lies, they constantly come up with new ones when the old ones have been exposed!

Here's some more lies these false prophets tell. Some say every wolf has his/her own way that leads to the Good Shepherd. Problem is, He won't let wolves into the fold now or in eternity. No one else can change them, but Him! There are others out there that teach the Good Shepherd will somehow miraculously turn every wolf into a lamb though they don't even follow Him. In fact, they continue attacking His lambs! They somehow think they are worthy of being changed after they die, too! They don't believe they will be separated from the lambs forever! In fact, they say to "Sit back, relax, and quit preaching." The Good Shepherd says, "If you die a wolf, you remain a wolf." Likewise, if you die a lamb, you remain a lamb and enter into His heavenly fold for all eternity.

The Good Shepherd told me to tell you, "Follow Me", which is said 95 times in the New Testament. John 10:27-28 state "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand."

So what's the hurry? Because He wants all wolves to be changed BEFORE THEY DIE! So do I! He needs His sheep to tell the wolves while there's still time! There's so many wolves and not enough lambs willing to trust Him! It is a bit scary every time I try to share the love of the Good Shepherd with the wolves. But my Good Shepherd tells me not to be afraid, because He will protect me! He tells me that I will get a special reward when His day of harvest comes. He will finally separate the lambs from the wolves. He told me He's coming very very soon!

He says the wolves that reject His message will be cast out with all the other wolves that rejected the Good Shepherd before they died, some of which were the ones that killed Him and His lambs! In that place, they will be seen as food; their predators will salivate, tease, taunt, hunt, and even injure them, for they get pleasure out of it ~ but they won't die! He's told His lambs that any wolf that rejects the Lamb of God won't be found listed in the "Lamb's Book of Life" because they were never changed! The Good Shepherd doesn't want to see even one go there! He's waiting as long as He can to get the message to every single one! Time is running out!

Please ask the Good Shepherd to change you into His lamb today. Thank Him for forgiving your sins as the Lamb of God! You will hear His voice, as I do! I have told you the message. If you can understand this message, you are "ripe" and ready to be changed. After you do this, and hear His voice, follow Him wherever He goes. Read His Word so you always have it in your mind and heart, and then He will always remind you, not only of what He said, but give you the words to say to each and every wolf, something especially for them. He will watch over you and protect you and will reward you for telling others this same message. He needs you and you need Him! Amen. Baaaaaaaaa

Oh, sister Skye ~ even I needed to hear this song again, to read the words of our Shepherd to my heart ~ just as you. The saints are worn down day after day, burdened by love for others, seeing their suffering, feeling our own ~ turning to the LORD who supplies all our needs ~ every single one. Our faith is tested, fear rears its ugly head in our humanness. But through it all, may we REMEMBER His faithfulness.

He spoke to me twice, the same words, as I was driving. He said "I am with you because I am in you. Wherever you are I AM." Oh, the sweet love of our Shepherd, our LORD. Blessed be His name forevermore.

I love you in His love, dear sister.

Brother Artin2010 ~ thank you so much for your comment. Satan is the "god of this world", but Jesus said His kingdom is NOT of this world. Jesus said in John 16:33, "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." He is NUMBER 1! Praise God!!!

Spiritual warfare comes with the territory of worship to a God whom Satan thinks is under him. We whom serve know that God is and has always been NUMBER 1. Thanks be to Jesus, God the Man for dying, healing and saving us from our human condition. Another wonderful hub Sister. Prayers and blessings to you.

Thank you, Tammy! Nothing blesses my heart more than to hope I am somehow encouraging the hearts of my fellow sheep and helping get His message across to those He desires to follow Him ~ those who wish to be changed from wolves to sheep! Bless you, sister!

That stuffed lambee sounds so cool ~ so perfect for this hub's message! I think the Good Shepherd was wise in making us lambs, for we will naturally attract wolves, amen? And while they "salivate", when they receive the good news of what we have to tell them, they will never "salivate" again ~~ I pray that our Lord bless His message through His sheep and bring as many as will receive Him into the fold to receive the Promise of eternal life in His love. God bless you, brother no body. Baaaa Aaaaaamen

The man that led me to the Lord in 1973 had a gift given to him that he showed everyone in church. It was a stuffed lamb in armor. A tag on it read: "Here wolfie, wolfie, wolfie!" The title of the toy was Attack Sheep. I thought it was so funny. But it is very apt. We are sheep. We have to don the armor of God to fight the spiritual battles we fight. We do go out to call the wolfies to God. We are on the "attack" in the sense that we are going out we aren't sitting on our haunches waiting for them to come to us. So picture yourself a lamb with a shield, a helmet, a breastplate, a sword, peaceful gospel shoes going out to call "Here Wolfies, come see what I have for you!" Now picture that. Loves ya.

Hello, fellow Lambeee DeBorrahK! Oh, the confidence we have when we are among wolves and false prophets, KNOWING we serve the Good Shepherd and we have NOTHING to FEAR. He is the Almighty God, God of gods, King of kings, Lord of lords and the Shepherd that will save or slay the wicked!! What we do know, is that any enemy that seeks to harm the lambees of God are harming the Good Shepherd Himself ~ woe to them. We need not fight them, only share the truth with them as long as our Shepherd tells us to do so. He is in control and not one word we share will return void to Him.

I love you sister, and this scripture comes to mind also ~ 1 Peter 5:8 "But resist him [Satan], firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world."

We are of the same flock and I'm so glad!! Much love to you!!

      Thank You & Bless you!

I am so grateful to know that the LORD is my Shepherd. This way as His little lamb, His child I know that He is with me wherever I go. Because, of this I must always be aware (not fearful) of the wolves. And respond or not respond in a way that pleases Him!

I have experienced many wolves as well as false prophets. Lord Help us! For me this has drawn me that much closer to the Lord and to believe in His WORD that much more! I realize that the scriptures are being fulfilled daily. We must be prayerful!

You are so right He is the Good Shepherd. I am currently writing a book on "Wolves in Sheep Clothing" Thank You for this Great Hub!

In Him we have the victory! PRAISE GOD!

Psalm 73:12 "Behold, these are the wicked; And always at ease, they have increased in wealth."

Jeremiah 12:1 "Righteous are You, O LORD, that I would plead my case with You; Indeed I would discuss matters of justice with You: Why has the way of the wicked prospered? Why are all those who deal in treachery at ease?"

You are right, jesusmyjoy! This is why we count it all JOY when we are attacked by Satan, for we know we are the Lord's! Amen!!

Brother Leroy, I know I had a dream once where I was literally battling with the demons of the devil. I quoted the Word as God told me to do, but it didn't work. After I was completely exhausted, the Lord asked me if I believed in Him and His death on the cross, His resurrection and His salvation. I had to really get it, get filled with faith, then rebuked the devil once more with that faith and he left! We truly are saved by grace through FAITH. We have the victory because of our faith in Him! Praise God!
