Astrology and Your Love Life

Astrological love is really far more complicated than the meeting of one astrological sign to another sign. No matter what Astrology claims about compatibility between signs, the bottom line is that we all have free will. And frankly we can find a person of any astrology sign attractive or not, regardless of what may show up on your chart.

However, learning about yourself through astrology can be most helpful in dealing with and understanding other people in all relationships. Compatibility and love choices generally travel through the moon signs of each of which I am going to cover in another hub. I wanted to share some of the misconstrued ideas people have about love, compatibility and astrology. You do not have to look up anything out side of this hub, and I am going to assume that if you are reading this you do know what zodiac sign you are.

Conjunct: This is a simple aspect as you just have to look at the sign in front of you and behind to determine your conjunct signs. I am a libra so Virgo and Scorpio are my neighbors and conjunct to my sign.

Opposition: You can almost figure this out by months. I am a Libra and my opposition is Aries. Many feel your oppositie sign is your mirror image, and sometimes lessons you need to learn in this lifetime.

Square: This is a challenging aspect for all relationships-and is represented by a 90 degree angle. My squares are Capricorn and Cancer.

Trine: The most favoriable and easy of all aspects. A good way to figure this is by being part of similar elements.

Libra: Aquarius. Gemini...Air (intellectual reasoning)

Taurus: Virgo and Capricorn...Earth (Practical reasoning)

Aries: Sagittarius and Leo ..Fire (Energy reasoning)

Cancer-Pisces-Scorpio-water (Emotional reasoning)

Sextile: Jump one sign over for this aspect. Since I am a libra sextile signs would be Sagittarius and Leo

Inconjunct: This is my favorite aspect for many reasons. We all have 2 inconjunct signs.

Conjunct signs is determined when one sign is next to the other on the astrology wheel. How these signs work together in a love relationshp is deeply affected by other aspects on the chart. This position of the signs is more of a positive aspect than a negative one. I am a Libra and I have many close friends who are Virgos and Scorpios. Even though the elements are different..water to air it seems to work well quite often.

There is a lot of controversy in analyzing this aspect in astrological charts and what it means. Opposition is opposition and when you are in a relationship there will be many differences. However this can also be positive. Very often Scorpio people are attracted to Taurus which is straight across the zodiac. And Cancers and Capricorns can be very compatible. After all who says conflict and differences of opinion make for a difficult relationship...There is often a strong attraction in opposites.

This aspect between sun signs can be the most challenging. Remember there is no good or bad in any aspects, just different circumstances and opinions. However I will share this with you this personal story.

I am a Libra and I was formerly married to a Capricorn which made our sun signs squared to each other. In our relationship this square represented itself mainly with major differences in personalities. He was quiet and often very taciturn, and I am outgoing and display my emotions. His moon was in Cancer which was square my sun sign. This meant in our relationship that we never really understood each other. These aspects did not break up my marriage, but helped me understand his nature better and how we were different in so many ways for the relationship not to work.

This is perhaps the most harmonious of all aspects. The trine aspect are always signs in the same elements. I am repeating this for emphasis and you don't have to look up to figure out what signs you are trine with.

For example If you are Sagittarius you are trine with Leo and Aries ..both fire signs.

If you are a Taurus you are trined with Capricorn and Virgo--all earth signs.

If you are a Libra you are trine with Gemini and Aquarius--all air signs

If you are a Pisces you are trine with Scorpios and Cancers--all water signs.

Having perfect harmony and a relatively easy relationship does not always make the perfect match but it surely cannot hurt.

This aspect is basically determined by jumping one sign. For example if you are a Sagittarius you form a sextile with an Aquarius and a Libra. This is a good aspect for friendships as well as relationships. Though there may be differences these signs work well together. The rest of the chart will determine other parts of the relationship.

Personally this is my favorite aspect. Some say there are karmic ties when you join up with some one who has an inconjunct sign. For example As a libra I am married to a Pisces...and I think this is a great combo.

The analysis of two people born under the same sign is a little tricky. People always ask me how they get along with someone of their own sign. This is hard to assess because this combination is strongly influenced by the moon, rising sign and other planets. So don't be surprised if you are not at all alike.

Astrology is not going to determine who you love and what is going to happen in your relationships. However you may find yourself attracted to certain signs and have difficulties with other signs. Sometimes I am even amazed at how accurate Astrology is. I believe in free will and making decisions based on reality. Astrology is a guide to learn about yourself and others close to you. It is also helpful in dealing with people and determining future trends.
