Astrology: Venus

Venus in Astrology is a Planet. This planet rules over the zodiac signs of Libra and Taurus. It rules over the Second and Seventh Houses and is of feminine gender. Everyone’s natal chart contains a Venus. Its glyph, or symbol is a circle with a cross under it, it looks a bit like a hand mirror.
Exalted: Venus in Pisces
Venus represents the planet of love, relationships with people and how people act in them. Venus was the goddess of love, so go figure. It is of all the beautiful things in life. It’s of love, pleasure, the arts and beauty; of refined and depending on the sign extravagant and expensive tastes. It’s tender and social and calls on pleasure and happiness. Though Venus is the zodiac signs Libra and Taurus ruling planet and is comfortable in those positions, it is exalted in the zodiac sign of Pisces.
Exalted in astrology means the highest and best position a sign in a planet can be in. It is exalted in Pisces because Pisces captures the true and ultimate expression of Venus’s energies. Pisces represents universal and undiscriminating love, love without boundaries, sacrifice, one-ness. And service to others. Pisces also represents peace, creativity, sensitivity, and flexibility, which is needed in love, friendships and relationships. Its element is water so there’s an emotionally receptive and intuitive level to Venus that is complimented when in the sign of Pisces.
Detriment: Venus in Aries
Venus’s detriment is Venus in Aries. Detriment represents a planet and zodiac signs most difficult and challenging position. In this case Venus in Aries is considered in detriment. Venus doesn’t like to be the sign of Aries. Aries characteristics is a “me first” attitude, aggression and competitiveness (since its ruled by Mars). Aries is combative, energetic and staunchly individualistic. Venus in Aries can be alienating because it very much about “me” and not about “we”, as Venus is supposed to represent.

Fall: Venus in Virgo
Venus’s Fall is Venus in Virgo. Fall in astrology represents a sign in which its position in a planet is uncomfortable and weak. Though this position is not the worst position it’s difficult to express the nature of the planet.
The Fall of a planet will always be in the sign in opposite of the exalted sign. Pisces is the exalted in the planet of Venus. Since Virgo is the opposite of Pisces, Venus in Virgo is considered in the Fall. Virgo is an Earth sign, so its stable, grounded and logical. Virgo is critical, judgmental, discerning, and can be quite cold. Love and relationships are oftentimes not based on logical and the principles and characteristics of Earth signs, especially Virgo.
Overall Venus is about the finer, nicer and prettier things in life. Of pleasure and beauty, the arts: music, drama and art, of using our senses and our ability to relate to people and things with agreeableness and harmony.
