Aundha Nageshwar Jyotirling tells the Story of Lord Shivji and his Devotee Namdev
Every Jyotirling tells the Story of Lord Shivji and his devotee. Jyotirling means the Divine Light that shows the path of spirituality. When the Devotee is in trouble and every gate of humanity and success is closed and his Devotee is tortured by worldly persons then God has to come for the support of his Devotee.
Pandvaas came here during their exile period and had lived in Aundha village in Hingoli District in Maharashtra for sometime. They had a Kapila Cow. There was a pond nearby. Kapila Cow went into the pond and poured all the milk into the pond.Bhim said to Yudhishthir, "Our cow is milked by someone. Here's someone who milks the cow".Yudhishthir said, " It is only your doubt. No one is here. Let's follow the cow".They went after Kapila cow. They saw that Kapila cow was pouring her milk into the pond.
They went into the pond and saw that there was a little Shivling. It was mostly under the ground. Very little some part of the Shivling was visible. They understood the whole situation. They covered it with sand for strengthening the Shivling. Aliving( doing Pranpartishtha) with Mantras, they made a temple. This temple was called Nageshwar Jyotirling.
The place of this Jyotirling is the same where it was found in the pond and the cow poured her whole milk. The temple was made on that pond.
This Shivling is under the ground level. You have to go down by stairs. This Shivling is covered with the mask of Silver at worshipping time. Firstly Casticism was in full swing. There was no importance of humanity and dedication. This saying came true"Nearer the Church farther from God".The priests knew only the language of Casticism and hurt the hearts of lower casts and poor people.
But God does not differentiate. He keeps in view the humanity and feelings. The Story of Devotee Namdev and Lord Shivji proved this, if you have a deep connection with God then no body came between you and God.
Devotee Namdev went to Nageshwar Jyotirling Temple. But priests didn't allow him to enter into the temple. They asked many questions about his cast and standard. They turned him out from the temple. There was a deep connection between Lord Shivji and Namdev. Namdev sat behind the temple. He was insulted badly by the priests. So tears came into his eyes. Humiliation hurted him and he prayed for meeting Lord Shivji. Lord Shivji understood the feelings of Namdev and his humiliation by priests.
The facing of Temple moved backside, from East to West where The Devotee Namdev was sitting. Lord Shivji also appeared there. Everyone who were presented there, they had seen this miracle. This was the miraculous meeting of Devotee Namdev and Lord Shivji.
Every Jyotirling's facing is in East or North Direction. But it's in West Direction. Lord Shivji blessed and gave Darshan to his Devotee Namdev many times.
Here's a Gurudwara of Namdev in Nageshwar Temple. A Hand Chakki is placed here. The Story of Hand Chakki is this:--
Namdev was asked to grind the wheat for too much people. It was impossible to grind the wheat within very short period. Namdev was worried about his work. He prayed to Lord Shivji for strength. Suddenly a miracle happened. A Hand Chakki automatically revolved around. Everyone had seen the whole wheat was grinded in a short period. Everyone had seen this miracle who were presented there.
