Battling the Blues, Bummers, and Bitterness
You probably know as well as I do that life is hard and sometimes things just don't go our way. I know you do. You, just like me, have those days that nothing seems to go right, your hair wants to wave at everyone, and everything you put on makes you look like you should be wearing a circus tent. For some, it may be a small vehicle setback or the package you were expecting still hasn't made it. Whatever the annoyance may be, it has completely ruined your day. Those statements may sound absurd, but to some of us those are serious issues, those are the small straws that break the camel's back.
Now, I am aware I am beginning to sound like a self-help book (and I am certain I will even more so later on) but, here are a few tips and wise words that have helped me along the way to remember things aren't as bad as they feel at the time.
You are never alone.
"Be strong. Take courage. Don't be intimidated. Don't give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you." Deuteronomy 31:6 The Message
"Don't panic. I'm with you. There is no need to fear for I'm your God. I'll give you strength. I'll help you. I'll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you." Isaiah 41:10 The Message
God has your back and He isn't going anywhere. He isn't like every other person who has said they would be around and weren't. If He promises in His word to be with you, you can take that to the bank! Not only is He with you but He goes before you! You are NEVER alone.
Peace is yours if you want it.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You. Because he trusts in You." Isaiah 26:3 NKJV
You see, the key to your peace is that your focus is on Him. He is peace. (Isaiah 9:6) This is a promise. However, it is a conditional one. You must first keep you mind on Jesus and not the things around you. If we keep ourselves focused on what He is doing in the spiritual realm, what is going on in the physical realm begins to matter less and less.
You are blessed to be a blessing.
"The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped." Proverbs 11:25 The Message
It's a simple principle really. When you choose to bless others, you are blessed by God. When you are willing to be the help when others are in need, God sends help when you need it as well. It's always becoming to be a help and a blessing.
The bottom line is, your worst day living for Jesus is a million times better that your best day living in the world. He always has an answer for you. He is always with you, He is your peace, and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.Be a blessing to someone today and see how your day improves.
Much Love and Blessings,
A Mom Just Like You
