I am a follower of Christ and have a passion to share the good news of the gospel with as many people as possible.

Source

I love to listen to Christian podcasts while I am at work, driving in a car, cutting the grass, or working in the garage. It is not only a great way to pass time; it is also a great opportunity to grow closer to God as I go about my day. There are so many wonderful podcasts available for download.

Best Places to Find Christian Podcasts

The best place to find Christian podcasts is ITunes. They have a broad selection to choose from. You can either search by ministry, speaker, or for specific topics. Another benefit of using ITunes is that you can select your favorite Christian ministries and it will go and fetch your favorite podcasts every time that you run ITunes. I also recommend OnePlace.com. They also have a large selection of podcasts that are available to be downloaded with the added benefit of maintaining a large archive for most of the ministries. Another great way to find podcasts to listen to is to visit your favorite ministries website.

Biblical Apologetics Podcasts

Christian apologetics is the fancy name for answering people’s questions about the Bible and defending the Christian faith. “Always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” 1 Peter 3:15 (NASB)

Is There Really a God?

Answers with Ken Ham

Ken Ham is one of the top Christian speakers when it comes to the creationism vs. evolution debate. The Answers program is a daily program that gives answers to Christians to defend the biblical account of creation found in the book of Genesis. I love his passion for creationism. He provides examples of how rock that was formed when Mount St. Helens erupted was dated several million years old by scientific dating methods. He also defends the Biblical account of a worldwide flood and shows how it would explain the fossil record. For anyone wanting to learn more about creationism, I strongly recommend the Answers podcast.

Where do we go When we Die?

Bible Answer Man

The Bible Answer Man with Hank Hanegraaff is a great podcast that will help you learn more about the Christian faith. Most podcasts consist of listeners calling in with their questions about the Bible and Christianity. Occasionally, Hank will have a guest on to speak to a specific topic. Hank is full of wisdom and Biblical knowledge. This is a great podcast to learn from.

Why the Bible?

Let My People Think

Let My People Think is a program that teaches Christians how to defend their faith as well as an effort to reach the lost. Ravi Zacharias is a wonderful teacher, interesting to listen to, and an extremely smart man. Ravi does not pull punches, but rather lays out the facts for everyone to see. This is a great program for those people who want deeper answers to life’s questions.

Why Christ is the ONLY WAY

Renewing Your Mind

Renewing Your Mind with Dr. R. C. Sproul can fit into a number this category as well as a teaching podcast. I chose to list it under apologetics because Dr. Sproul spends much of his time teaching the foundation truths of the Christian faith as well as the relevant issues of today. This is a great podcast to listen to if you want to grow in your faith.

Culture and Evangelism

The culture in the United States is moving further and further away from its Judeo-Christian roots. Prayer and Bible reading were removed from the schools in this country in the 1950s. We now call the killing of an unborn baby in a mother’s womb, a choice, rather than calling it what it is, murder. There are more protections for animals than for unborn babies in a mother’s womb. We have a major political party that has a Romans 1:21-32 platform. Our inner cities have become war zones. Our only hope is for people to turn their hearts back to God and get right with Him. The podcasts under this heading exist to bring people to Jesus and to help us to be salt and light as Jesus commanded by fighting for what is right.

An Atheists Definition of a Christian

A New Beginning

A New Beginning with Pastor Greg Laurie focuses on bringing people to a saving knowledge in Jesus Christ. Pastor Greg has a real passion for the lost. He also gears his messages towards helping new believers grow in their faith.

Witnessing Example

Chuck Colson

Living Waters – Way of the Master Radio

Living Waters – Way of the Master Radio is an excellent podcast for learning how to effectively sharing your faith with nonbelievers by using the Ten Commandments. Todd Friel hosts the program along with Ray Comfort and occasionally with Kirk Cameron. Each show consists of a general theme and usually has a segment where they have someone go out in public and share their faith with people they meet. It is an excellent training tool for learning to share your faith. The one drawback, in my opinion, is that they occasionally tend to be a little on the legalistic side on some of their other commentary, but I strongly recommend this podcast for anyone wanting to learn how to effective share their faith.

Breakpoint

Breakpoint is a ministry founded by former Nixon strong man Chuck Colson to inform Christians of what is going on in the culture. Breakpoint is a daily program that is about two minutes in length. Chuck also used it to encourage Christians to get involved by praying, calling their congressperson, and so on. Eric Metaxas and John Stonestreet are the current hosts of Breakpoint. This is a great way to stay informed of what is going on from a Christian perspective.

The Christian Worldview

The Christian Worldview with David Wheaton is a weekly program that teaches Christians how to develop a Christian Worldview. Each week David looks at a different topic that is relevant to what is going on in the world. The podcast is about an hour long. I highly recommend this podcast because it is so informative and Biblical.

Life's Toughest Questions

In the Market with Janet Parshall

In the Market is a daily two-hour program that looks at current events from a Biblical perspective. On most days, each hour of the program features a different topic and guests. I usually listen to the second hour of the program during my drive home every night. In the Market is another great way to stay informed on what is going on in the world.

Prophecy Today Program Sample

Prophecy Today Weekend

Prophecy Today Weekend is a weekly podcast that focuses on current events in the Middle East and Europe, and how they relate to Biblical prophecy. Each week, the host, Jimmy DeYoung, talks to correspondents around the world and gets the inside story of what is going on there. It is a very informative program with news that is hard to find elsewhere because it is not reported on by the mainstream media.

Family Podcasts

The podcasts under this section are devoted to upholding the traditional family. They offer invaluable advice for marriage, parenting, men’s issues, women’s issues, and more. I cannot recommend these podcasts enough.

The Focus on the Family Story

Focus on the Family

When it comes to podcasts that are oriented to the family, Focus on the Family is the place to turn. Originally founded on a lecture series by Dr. James Dobson, Focus on the Family has been ministering to families for over 30 years. The podcast features a wide variety of topics concerning all aspects of family life. No matter if you are just starting out in life or have been around awhile, this podcast will help you in some area of your life.

Your Child: Essentials of Discipline

Family Talk

Family Talk is the new ministry that Dr. James Dobson started after leaving Focus on the Family. Dr. Dobson hosts the podcast along with co-hosts Ryan Dobson and LuAnne Crane, interview guests and offer insights into the various topics. The focus of Family Talk is on marriage, relationships, parenting, keeping your priorities straight, as well as monitoring what is going on in the culture.

Gratitude

Family Life Today

Family Life Today is a lot like Focus on the Family and Family Talk. The ministry exists to uplift families. Family Life is a ministry of Campus Crusade and sponsors the Weekend to Remember marriage conferences that are held around the country and focused on strengthening marriages. The podcast features a wide variety of topics relating to the life of the family. It is an excellent program, especially for young families.

Plugged in Movie Review

The Plugged in Movie Review is a great weekly resource reviews the new hot movie of the week. They do a great job of telling a parent what the movie is about and how appropriate it is for a family to see. They offer hundreds of other reviews of movies, TV shows, and video games on their website. I have used their podcast and website many times to gather more information about a movie that sounds interesting to my family or me.

What Must You Believe to be Saved?

Teaching Podcasts

Teaching podcasts offer a great opportunity to learn and grow closer to God and many different topics and passages. All of the ministries below offer sound Biblical teaching.

Desiring God

Desiring God was founded by Pastor John Piper and it exists to proclaim the supremacy of God in all things. John Piper is another fearless preacher who will proclaim God’s truth no matter what. His main message is that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. On Desiring God’s website, they have hundreds of sermons and conference messages that are available for download. Desiring God podcasts are a great resource for believers just starting out through the most mature among us.

Is the Bible Really True?

Grace to You

Grace to You with John MacArthur offers podcasts of all his sermons dating back to the late 1960s for free download. John MacArthur offers verse by verse teaching of God’s Word. He is not afraid to take a stand on what the Bible says and call out false doctrine and false teachers. John MacArthur is someone that I turn to if I have a question about the Bible to see what his take is. I strongly recommend this podcast for believers of all walks of life.

Listen!

The Battle for Your Mind

Insight for Living

Insight for Living with Chuck Swindoll is another excellent podcast that is filled with God’s Word. He is an excellent communicator and powerfully preaches God’s Word. Chuck’s laugh is infectious and can easily help to brighten your day. He is my favorite Bible teacher and one of my favorite people to listen to because of His passion for God. This is a great podcast to help your grow closer to Christ.

Love Worth Finding

Love Worth Finding with the late Dr. Adrian Rodgers is one of the best teaching podcasts that there is. Their mission is to lead people to Christ and help them to grow strong in their faith. Dr. Rodgers preaches the Bible in a way that is very easy to understand. Regularly listening to the Love Worth Finding podcast will help you grow in your faith immensely.

There are way too many good Christian podcast sermons to list here. The ones that are listed above are the best of the best. They all strongly proclaim the Bible as God’s infallible Word. If you will take time to listen to them on a regular basis, you will begin to grow in your spiritual life. If you do not know Christ as your Savior, I urge you not to put that decision off any longer.
