Billy Meier: The Plejaren Alien Religion

Updated on May 28, 2014

Overview

Beginning in the 1970s, Billy Meier published photos that he alleged to show spaceships (or "beamships," as he liked to call them). According to Meier, these ships belonged to the Plejaren, a race of alien beings from the Pleiades star cluster. Over time, Meier's works have shifted and in many respects he is now the leader and prophet of a UFO religion.

Who is Billy Meier?

Billy Meier is a Swiss author and ufologist. During his lifetime, he has written more than 40 books.

Meiers claims he has been in contact with the Plejaren aliens since he was 5 years old, and that after more than 30 years of contacting him, the Plejaren had him begin to write down the content of his discussions with them in Contact Reports.

In 1975, he established the Free Community of Interests for Fringe Spiritual Sciences and Ufology, or FIGU.

The Plejaren

According to Meiers, the alien visitors he has been in contact with are called the Plejaren, from the Pleiades star cluster.

The aliens are known within the UFO community as Nordic aliens, based on the description that Meiers and others have given: six to seven feet tall, blond hair, and blue eyes, a description similar to that of Northern Europeans.

The Plejaren, he claims, come from a planet called Erra that is slightly smaller than Earth. The population is roughly 500 million. The Plejaren have a life expectancy of more than 1000 years.

Meiers claims that until 1995, the Plejaren operated three bases on Earth -- one in North America, one in Switzerland, and one in Asia -- but that these bases have since been evacuated and removed.

Spiritual and Religious Aspects

Although Meier originally published quite a bit of "physical" evidence, mostly photographs that many believe to have been doctored, since the late 1980s, he has begun to focus instead on spiritual, almost religious, aspects of the Plejaren.

Meier now teaches what he calls the Plejaren philosophy of life. He claims to be the Seventh Prophet of the Plejaren, and the only person currently in communication with the aliens. Past prophets include Enoch -- the son of Cain and grandson of Adam in biblical tradition, Elijah, Isiah, Jeremiah, Jesus, and Mohammed.

Teachings

According to the teachings of the Plejaren, as passed on by Meier, the following are true of civilization:

  • The Milky Way Galaxy is home to some 7.5 million human civilizations
  • Humans have existed in 343 skin colors across these many civilizations
  • Earth began forming 646 billion years ago
  • Apes are descendants of humans, not the reverse

Men in Black

Meier claims that Men in Black exist on Earth. These men are in fact from the Sirius star system, although according to his Contact Reports, the Plejaren have taken them into custody, and since 1998, Plejaren counter-measures have been in place to prevent them from harming Meier.

Meier says that there may still be some old Men in Black on Earth, and that they can be identified by their fluorescent eyes.

Men in Black is also a term used by Meier to refer to a group of Neo-Nazis and government agents.

Assassination Attempts

According to Meier, on June 8, 1998, a bullet fired by an unidentified assassin just missed his head. Less than 29 hours later, Meier claims an assassin attempted to take his life again, this time with a throwing knife. The knife allegedly hit him blunt-end-first, meaning Meier survived what he believed to be a second assassination attempt.

Meier believes strongly that these attempts were the work of Men in Black.
