Calm in the Storm
Calmness
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." ~ Psalm 56:3
These days I have periods of anxiety and worry. I have some sedatives that my neighbor gave me but I don't take them. I have to admit that I like to have them even though I don't take them. Here are some ideas on how to combat the fear. These steps have extremely helped me and I hope they will help you too.
-When you first wake up in the morning, do not look at the news or listen to it. Give at least 15-30 minutes to spiritual things. I listen to a 30 minute YouTube video that has calming scriptures and affirmations with soft music. https://www.youtube.com › watch
I love this it was so helpful.
-Pray about all your worries. Lay them on the table and give them to the Lord. Pray for your family members and every crazy worry you have. God doesn't think they are stupid. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7.
-Have a long bubble bath.
-Have a cup of chamomile tea. (I haven't done this yet ) I have to buy some on my next shopping trip.
-Busy yourself- clean out that closet that you have been putting off. Maybe mend some clothes, watch comedies and pet videos. Also, call some people to chit chat. Help them out if you can. Be careful who you call because some people will get you caught up in all the fear again. I usually just ask how they are and what they are doing to keep busy. If they talk about it I change the subject.
-Stay safe- staying safe and following protocols helps you realize that you are doing all you can to help this situation which in turn makes you feel a bit better.
-Exercise- Stretching and exercise.
-Learn a brand new hobby.
-Cook new recipes that you haven't done before.
Well I hoped this helped someone and I will look forward to some of your ideas.
