Carry each other’s burdens - Galatians 6:2
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 NIV
Law of Christ, paraphrasing and condensing, can be summed up in the simple command to love. When love is the motive, coupled with God’s guidelines for living, we have a big winner. Everybody wins; society as a whole wins in the macro sense.
Makes perfect sense in concept; but we all know, given man’s failure to act with love as his primary motive, this simple recipe falls apart in a world compromised by sin.
God’s word tells us this dual and contradictory state is temporal. A perfect God will reconcile all at some point, perfect order restored.
So what do we do until then?: our best to follow His primary instructive and love. In that way, we can follow all of His commands.
Easier said than done, given a dual natured state. And so I have been in the habit each day, to first thank God for putting me in the game. And second, to make me into someone who can love in the way He wants me to. That was my prayer today.
