Change, A Mixed Blessing
Let me state the obvious, We change everyday but what we don't tend to notice is when, the change turns into chaos and madness. When it completely goes south, when all this time you thought things were going smoothly.
"This is your time and it feels normal to you, but really, there is no normal. There's only change and resistance to it and then more change."
— Meryl StreepA quote from Academy Award Winning Actress, Meryl Streep. (no i'm not obsessed, sorta shhh) Not only is she a great actress, she's also full of wisdom.
As she stated and I quote, "There's only change and resistance to it and then more change". I guess you could say that change is the only constant thing in our lives.
I suppose, that's a good thing. Seeing yourself transform into someone you've always dreamed of being but as everything else, there are downfalls.
I've constantly changed, constantly. I wanted to fit in. I wanted to be loved. I wanted people to understand me, and vice versa. I wanted to be popular, to be known.
Have you ever felt the need to do that as well? Y'all that have, you know how much, you lose yourself in that process. How much you question, who you truly are. After all the changes, you FORCIBLY put unto yourself. It gets foggy, the true you. Hidden behind all the, smog?
Gosh I'm sincerely, trying to find words and metaphors. As you can see, I'm failing but please bear with me, heheh.
So as I was saying before I got lost. You notice in yourself, that you're changing once again. Self aware, that you're listening to this specific artist, reading a new comic, watching this new movie. Once again, going into the spiral of the, "ohhh this looks great". You think its great because, they're into it. It's hip and trendy, time to get into it stance.
You usually get into it, but as time goes by, you lose what you truly are into. Who you truly are. When you realize it, that's when things start to go downhill.
You start questioning your entire existence, why, how, when and what ?
So, once your aware of your own doing, "forcibly changing yourself".
Save yourself from insanity, by sticking to what you love. What you can love. Keep a list of what you love on the side, it sounds ridiculous but truly, well basing it from my experience, it works.
It can be a movie you love, a book you've read a gazillion times, anything at all. Come back to it, from time to time. Help yourself remember who you truly are.The whole situation, right now is as bad as it is, keep yourself safe! both mentally and physically.
