Christian Pledge of Allegiance

Updated on April 4, 2018
kerbev profile image

I love everything weird and colorful in this world and I try to live a life that will make the world a little better once I'm gone.

Pledge of Allegiance to the US Flag, the Christian Flag, and to the Bible

Where do your allegiances lie? To God and country? Then your pledge of allegiance should include both.

The Christian flag has been used for over a hundred years, and is displayed in thousands of churches, homes, and organizations. It is the only free flag in the world, in that it applies to anyone who wishes it to apply to them. It has no connection to any specific denomination.

Learn about the pledge of allegiance to the Christian Flag and the pledge of allegiance to the Holy Bible.

Pledge Allegiance to the Christian Flag

I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands. One Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty to all who believe.

The Meaning of the Colors on the Christian Flag

The Christian Flag Proudly Flies

With its red, white, and blue, the Christian Flag represents Christianity - of any denomination.

The red representing Christ's blood shed on Calvary.

The blue stands for the royalty of the King of Kings.

The white represents Christ's purity.

God Bless America

God Bless America means so much to so many, and performed by different musicians makes it interesting and meaningful each time.

God Bless America was written in 1918, and then revised by him in 1938.

Learn more about God Bless America at the Library of Congress website.

Kate Smith sang this song in 1938 making it her signature song.

Pledge Allegiance to the Bible

I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's Holy Word, I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and will hide its words in my heart that I might not sin against God.

Pledge Allegiance to the Bible

(Alternate Version)

I pledge allegiance to the Bible and the Gospel for which it stand, one Savior crucified, risen and coming again, with life and liberty to all who believe.

Pledge Allegiance to the United States Flag

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Red Skelton's Pledge of Allegiance

God & Country

Quotes of Christ & Patriotism

This, then, is the state of the union: free and restless, growing and full of hope. So it was in the beginning. So it shall always be, while God is willing, and we are strong enough to keep the faith. -Lyndon B. Johnson

Intelligence, patriotism, Christianity, and a firm reliance on Him, who has never yet forsaken this favored land, are still competent to adjust, in the best way, all our present difficulty. -Abraham Lincoln (source)

We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His kingdom come. -Samuel Adams (at the signing of the Declaration of Independence)

The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained. - George Washington

It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here. -Patrick Henry

Reader Poll:

The Christian Flag is international and available for use in any Christian church or any denomination.

Does your church display the Christian Flag?

Pledge Allegiance to the Cross

I pledge allegiance to the cross, of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the faith for which it stands, one Savior, eternal, with mercy and grace for all.

Lovely lens. You are fortunate to live in a country where Christianity and patriotism are equally held in high esteem by the majority of citizens. In my country's case I'd like to quote the well-known expression: "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity."

I love the Red Skelton video and do remember the first time we heard it on his show while growing up. We used to do the Pledge to the Christian flag in the Methodist church I grew up in but haven't seen it for years and don't think I knew about the Pledge to the Bible. Thanks for reminding us!

in Germany we do not use such flags or pledges...sounds from my view a bit weird...our history is maybe the reason we do not pledge to flags etc. anymore (except in the army where I have not been). The lens is nice made though.

I just read some of the comments and have to say that I learned the pledges to America, the Christian Flag and the Bible in Bible School when I was a small child. I may not have understood the full magnitude but it set the stage for a lifelong respect for all three that does not falter! It is a shame that there are those now who think it wrong to teach these things to our children. That is why we see so many who do not have respect for the things our country was built on. Thank you for your lens. Lensrolling it to my Allegiance To America, Under God!

@anonymous: WOW...Paul you are very upset...from what I am seeing you are allowing Satan an in-road into your life and you are not seeing the whole see soemtimes when we aren't looking we can get into issues that stir up troubles we didn't intend...First I hold fast as a Christian to my beliefs Some of what you are saying you DO justify with the right answer but perhaps a little out of context...Our Pledge of allegiance is not in a lack of respect for God...Our fore-fathers put down laws that are being misinterperted...first we in saying the Pledge are not making the flag an idol...we do it out of respect for the lives lost and the blood spilled for our freedom...which we once held totally under GOD...but as it seems if you give an inch on your liberties some person will come along and take bit by bit away from those freedoms...#1-the Bible being read aloud at school, #2 prayer at school #3 commandments being removed from public places on the guise of seperation of church and state...hogwash...THIS Nation IS a Christian Nation that is being destroyed by allowing people to take away our freedoms...I've lived long enough to have had the priveledge of having had all the freedoms granted by wise men of long ago...We NOW are a mulitnational religious Nation...not on purpose but by giving Satan a way in through the people he used to accomplish just this purpose. Back many years ago I applied for a job on an Army base where I required a Top Secret clearance...I cleared all that an swore my allegiance to MY country...I did not however swear to remove my number one priority of God from THAT allegiance...I'm sure you are a decent person with good intentions, but some of what you said is anti-Nation under God...Do Not allow Satan an in-road by putting thoughts in your head that may not trult be your own...A Nation that has GOD at the HEAD of it is priveledged...we must bring a call for all those who love our fereedoms to rise up and fall to our knees and ask God to please take back control of our thankless Nation!

@anonymous: Your point may have a bit of truth in it, but this IS and has ALWAYS been a Christian FOUNDED Nation...The Christians who founded it were the 'fore-fathers' of this country...the Pledge may not have originally been wrote with the 'one Nation under God' in the original because it was implied as the people understood the founding...when 'under GOD was added it was because the people were seeing diversity in religion due to immagrants from Pagan it was added that ALL might understand that our Nation was FOUNDED on Christian Principles but that we as a Christian Nation would allow Pagan's to take their own course in whatever religion they would doesn't DIVIDE our Nation...It STATES what our Forefathers fought and died for!! NOT ONE CHRISTIAN will force anything down your throat but would appreciate your respect for the original values on which the United States was founded upon!! If you don't care to say 'ONE NATION UNDER GOD' that is your business but those who understand HOW this country became would tell you if they could how much FAITH played a part in all they did...EVEN Congress had prayer prior to the begin of their day.

Thank You for allowing me to speak MY opinion!

I pledge allegiance to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the holy catholic (universal) church for which it stands, one , holy, catholic, apostolic church guided by the Holy Spirit, teaching unity and truth until the end of time. Amen. This is the way that I learned it . . . a much shorter version here.

At my wife's church, they open every service with a pledge to the Christian flag, a pledge to the Bible, and the Pledge of Allegiance. I participate in the first two, but remain silent for the third. The Pledge is a gross lie. Besides, why should I pledge allegiance to a nation that has renounced its allegiance to God?

Nearly every word in the pledge is a lie or a blasphemy, and I thought I might make mention of it.

      "I pledge . . ."

God said that we are to swear no oaths, and yet we have made it a ritual in our country through the pledge, reciting it in our schools and churches.

". . . allegiance to the flag of the United States of America . . ."

If we swear allegiance to the flag, we are declaring ourselves subjects to it, placing the flag over ourselves. Is this not idolatry? God said, "You shall place no other gods before me". He also said we are not to bow down before any graven image (something created by man). Is not standing, doffing our hats, and placing our hands over our hearts bowing before a graven image?

      ". . . and to the Republic for which it stands . . ."

The United States is not a Republic. It is a Socialist State. A casual examination of our laws and recent events makes that clear enough.

      ". . . one nation under God . . ."

Are you kidding? Yes, we are under God's rule, but we have rebelled against it. We have flipped God off, and now we mouth being under Him? And besides, have we not, just a few words in the Pledge previously, placed ourselves under the flag? We cannot serve two masters. Of course, one might also wonder WHICH god is being mentioned in the Pledge.

      " . . . indivisible . . ."

What a joke. The United States has to be the most divided nation in the world. We are divided socially, religiously, politically, economically, and racially.

". . . with liberty and justice for all."

Liberty? Justice? Yeah, right. In a country where the IRS can clean out your bank account, where millions of protesters are ignored and ridiculed, where political prisoners can be incarcerated without a fair trial, where families are massacred for not meshing with the system (think Waco and Ruby Ridge), where laws, restrictions, and regulations make it virtually impossible for people to do what they want with their own land, and people are burned in the media for being politically incorrect? I don't think so. If you think we're a free country, and not a Socialist Federalist Union, think again.

@teamlane: In 1954 "under God" was added to the "Pledge of Allegiance", changing it from a declaration of a patriotic American's allegiance to country and flag into a Christian prayer and oath. Instead of "One Nation Indivisible", the "under God" divides this nation's people into "them" and "us". What part of "Liberty and Justice For All" do the fanatic Christians in this country Not Understand? A country divided can not stand. I am a two tour of duty Viet Nam Veteran with over 20 years of my life given in service of our great nation. I Am extremely Patriotic. I am Not Liberal or "Progressive". I do not follow the Abrahamic deities of Yahweh, Jehovah, Satan, Jesus, Allah or the "Holy Spirit/Ghost".

I believe in the One Universal Life Force and Consciousness of this Living Universe which is Immanent within all living things. And, I do declare my Allegiance to an Undivided American Republic with Freedom, Liberty and Justice for All!

great pledges and lens...children are not too young, otherwise children would not qualify for Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts pledges...teaching the meanings of words behind pledges is the way a child to hold pledges with heartfelt meanings, just like pledging to the flag of America in school...5*

I think these pledges pushed on kids is just wrong. Words have power, and should not be spoken lightly and not be spoken unless they are meant.

WHile it is all good for an adolescent with knowledge of what it entails, it is too much for a child of 5 or 6. Swearing falsely on (or too) a bible is a sin of no small magnitude.

I think our days are numbered to when we see "God" removed from the pledge of allegiance. Fortunately, only the word can be removed as God will always be there for us. Squid Angel blessings on this one. ~ Colleen
