Her name is Bible

We never know when we have a conversation with a stranger in a public place how that event may affect the person.

Well, usually, we don’t know what the moment meant to the person. We only know how it has affected our self. Sometimes we do get to know.

I just had a very strange situation happen that reminded me, as I had forgotten through the years, how a certain meeting had helped the lady I was visiting with.

I was switching back to a previous internet service supplier (not a change of email address, just the provider) that I had stopped using years ago; incrediMail.

My husband downloaded the software, I began downloading all my email addresses into it and discovered my previous emails, junk and deleted items were still there for me to clean up. When I had stopped using the program all my undeleted items had been stored forever.

The following email surfaced:

Hello Mrs. Overstreet

My name is ______ Bible and I met you at the doctor’s office on October 20, 2005. I just wanted to say I thank you so much for approaching me and sharing your testimony. At the time I was going through a lot of things in my life-- personally—and talking to your made a sense of calm pass through me. People like you in my opinion are “angels walking in human form on earth”. You really made a difference in my life. I will purchase one of your books and may God bless you in all that you do.

Sincerely. Ms. Bible

I was amazed to find this message and felt God had saved it for me to find. Sometimes we need a little nudge to get us off our easy chair and back into doing His work. It is so easy to just relax and assumed someone else will reach out to help others if we choose not to. God has a plan for each of us and He is waiting for us to do our job helping others.

I love the chance meetings Jesus sets up for me. I just see someone and feel I want to start a conversation and later realize it was not a chance meeting. Either I needed what the other person had to say or they needed what God would put into my mouth. So, don’t be afraid to reach out, Our savior will be right there beside you, He just wants you to have the experience of “Doing unto others as you want them to do unto you”. Chances are you will never see the person or hear from them again, but the present is what counts.

We Must let Our Heavenly Father guide us to be about His work.

I recently had another strange incident of being contacted by someone I didn’t know who had found my name and phone number in a very peculiar way. I would love to share that experience with you on my next Hub.

Reaching out.

Are you helping God today?

Have you ever reached out to a person in need of a kind word?
