Christianity is Not Fire Insurance

Claiming to be a Christian without real faith will not save a person. It is not enough to get a person into Heaven.

Do you know anyone that claims to be a Christian, yet does not live as a Christian?

Are You Really a Christian? Really?

If you say you are a Christian, will simply invoking the name of Christ automatically make you a Christian?

Of course not. Yet there are many people that do this, and live their lives very much like pagans. They move around from one Christian circle to the next. Some do it looking for love, others do it because they were taught to do this by their parents.

Matthew 7:21 says, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

If a person is truly saved, their lifestyle will reflect a change after conversion. This person should now get convicted about the worldly things they do, and now have a desire to seek out the things of God.

Watch the Youtube video (to the right) to see how to check for sure if somebody is a Christian.

Can a person do enough good deeds to get into Heaven?

No. Your sins have separated you from God, and there is no amount of good works that could ever redeem you, because you have been stained. You can only be redeemed by the spotless lamb of God, who knew no sin.

Ephesians 2:8 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God..."

However, you hear all the time that if Christians would witness as faithfully as the Mormons or the Jehovah's Witnesses, Christianity would be on the rise. These cult groups are faithfully active in witnessing, and the main reason is because their doctrine teaches it is essential to their salvation (or level of Heaven they will reach).

Reason why Christians are Stagnant

Many Christians do not take their faith as serious as Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. That is why Christians are not living in victory. That is why Christians are not witnessing the good news to people.

Tired of Living a Lie?

Look, at some point all Christians had to realize that they are living sinful lives, and that it is time for Jesus to become the Lord of their life.

Can you definitively say that there was a time in your life that you gave your life over to Christ and began living for Him?

You would be able to identify this with a change in how you live. The Holy Spirit then begins convicting you of your sinful ways. A true conversion is followed by a change in your life, prompted by the Holy Spirit.

Christians that are connected to God spiritually will feel convicted about sinful behavior. If you don't feel convicted about sinful behavior, then something is wrong. Either you never trusted in God, or you have turned from God and are disconnected from the things of God.

Either way, it is time to get right with the Lord and ask for forgiveness in your life.
