Christmas Is Coming Fast

Updated on November 30, 2009

Well, Thanksgiving came and went like every year..since we are getting older time seems to go by so much faster. When I was a child it seemed the holidays would never get that time goes by so much faster I tend to want to get things done in to much of a hurry..But God gets me through everything I come across. As I walk through the stores lately they don't seem as full ..I remember when I use to go shopping with my dad and all the people in the store's we're so friendly, we use to hear Merry Christmas every where we went ..but now if we hear that it sometimes seems strange because people don't say it like they use to..there we're smiles going on as we walked the stores and hand shakes and lots of friendly people.

Well, we can keep Christmas in our hearts and smile when we meet others on the streets and in the stores..we can remember that maybe they are going through something in their lives that we may need to whisper a prayer for them. Life just goes by to fast. I try to spend most of my time with my husband and kids and grandkids..This is why I miss my youngest daughter so much, and my youngest grandson, we have always been a close family but when she left and got involved with the wrong man it really hurt my heart..she seems to be hooked on someone that hurts her all the time and I sometimes can't see why. She has been through so much but if I can make her see that when we choose things that are not good for us we have to suffer the's hard to watch her suffer..she wrote me begging me to help her pay this child support..I just don't have the income to send her no money as of now..but my prayers are with her as each day goes on..for her to regain custody of her son and to regain control of her own life, instead of doing what this man says.

I ask you to all keep her in prayer..pray for her salvation and for her eyes to be opened..I love you all and wish you all a Merry Christmas..

Love Betty B.

Yes Christmas is a time for us all to be together, and I know I love seeing the joy on my grandchildren's faces, but I can't help feeling sadness at this time because I often think of people worse off than me, and I know there are plenty. I hope your daughter finds happiness and peace and that your grandson is reunited with his mother and yourself.

      Many Blessings

jesusmyjoy, thank you for the uplifting Hub and important message of blessing it contains!

The true Christmas Spirit is the Spirit of Christ!

A special prayer for your daughter - done! I too have a grandchild (granddaughter) and similar situation in regard to her (custody situation) that God worked out beautifully and he's going to work things together for good on your behalf (Rom 8:28).

Jesusmyjoy, Time does seem to pass faster as we get older, I think its because we realize that it is so precious! Therefore we want to spend as much of it as we can spending quality time with those we love.

You are right about fewer Merry Christmas greetings when out and about! Yes we must be mindful, we never know what someone else is going through.

I will pray for your daughter and that she opens her heart to the Lord. This distance from the Lord gives the person she is involved with a stronghold. But God is able! You are right about the consequences of one’s choices! Naturally she tugs at your heart, it is not easy when a child goes astray. She has etched in her mind memories of how you have lived before her Loving the Lord! Love is stronger than anything else.

Put her on “God Watch” and keep entrusting her to the Lord. When you truly love the Lord the enemy uses those closest to you to try and drain your JOY! Remember HE is where your strength comes from! Knowing that God is Omnipresent and everything is ultimately in His hands have Peace and focus on Him every time she comes to mind! Thank you for sharing sis, and may each day that passes bring you closer to the day you can Celebrate her prodigal return! In the meantime Celebrate with those who are with you! Thank you for sharing, Blessings & Merry Christmas!

A parent always suffers when their child suffers. I empathize and pray your strength and your daughter's awakening. Also know, that what is will not always be.

Yes, Christmas is different from back in the day. Much of its spirituality has been lost and replaced by aggressive commercialism and the ongoing quest to remove God from public view.

Yet, we still live the meaning of Christmas in ways you mentioned. As Christians, we know that in spite of appearances, our Lord is in full control.

      Be blessed dear heart,
