Righteous Principles are not the property of a particular faith, but the heritage of ALL people of faith and principle.

After His Kind

Once a man had made a baby.

What will he be? Just wait and see.

It will be a horse, maybe.

Once a man had made a baby.

What will it be? We all want to see.

It's a duck after all this waiting.

Once a man had made a baby.

What will it be? Let us see.

It was a little man as it should be.

On Becoming Divine

What do you want to be when you grow up?

That is the question each kid gets when trying to figure out life. Kids want to be police officers, firefighters, doctors, lawyers, etc. Some imagine being just mothers or fathers. Less probably imaging growing up to become God.

That is right. No more than a child can become his parents can an individual become God. Parents will always be parents no matter what level or status a child reaches. Former President Donald Trump's parents are no less his parents since his entrance into the White House and arguably the most powerful position in humanity. Yet, Donald Trump is a parent, just as equal in authority and power to his parents for his children as his parents to him, and so forth.

So, all children grow up to become adults if they are fortunate enough to survive childhood. Some of those children marry and create families of their own to nurture and the process repeats. Does it work that way with God and His children? Yes.

Who thinks of growing up to become God? Jesus Christ thought about that, and He was God in the flesh. He thought about growing up to become God because it is possible by His own admission. In this article is discussed how the regular man or woman can become God, not like a god, but God indeed.

Each human born has the potential to godhood at the right hand of Jesus Christ who declares that all He has will belong to the faithful children of Christ.

Power to Become Like God

A unique doctrine associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the teaching: As man is now, God once was; as God is now, man may become. Other Christians do not formulate it that way. Jesus Christ is God, one of the three members of the Godhead. He came to mortality to take on flesh and set The Example for humanity.

Each human born has the potential for Godhood at the right hand of Jesus Christ who declares that all He has will belong to the faithful children of God.

Paul instructed the Romans that the natural or carnal man who gives in to the desires of the body will die spiritually with that body. What does it mean to die spiritually? Spiritual death is separation from God. Physical death is separation of the spirit from the body, which is temporary. Spiritual death, separation from God is eternal without repentance through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

He then taught that those who seek after holy things, spiritual things, will live eternally, life with God. Living in the Spirit of God allows the righteous to discern that

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:16-17

If humanity is willing to bear the burden of suffering as Christ did, not suffering for the sins of the world but the suffering that comes from people using agency, when wicked people--who chose to die spiritually (separate from God) eternally--persecute them, or when sickness and disease emaciate their bodies, or when all manner of trials consume their mortal lives, He promises the same eternal reward granted to Him by our Heavenly Father, all that He has, which is everything.

Power to become God with Christ is given to all people who willingly suffer through their personal Gethsemane without turning away from the plan that God has for humanity to have His type of Joy, His type of Love, His type of Sorrow, and His type of Power.

What is an Heir?

A person who obtains stewardship of property, owning at the death of another, or receives a legacy to perdure, as does the legacy of one who is called of God and given heirship with Christ.

Children do not grow up and become dolphins. They become full adults with the responsibility of adults. Some fare better than others but fare they will. The children of God grow up to become God. God did not promise all that He has with limitations on it. He promises all power and all glory to those who seek after love, for none else can have the power of God except he or she that loves as God loves. It does not happen in a minute.

All people born of the Church of the Lamb of God are heirs of the kingdom. The power is in the grace of Christ who provided the way for eternal life for all of those who keep the commandments of God.

What Will I Be When I Grow Up?

When was Father without a child?
When was Mother without offspring?
If the child becomes a man or woman,
Who twain with his or her spouse becomes One
And become parents also of a child,
Then is he or she Not Father or Mother
The same as his or her parents?
If a child of God, are we not to become like Him?

Perspective

What a bold assertion to claim that all humans have the potential to be God. The creative power of God is already in each individual. Life is about preparing to meet God as a joint-heir with Christ. Does this mean that He will disappear? No. It does mean that the work of God will continue as long as life in any form is to continue. Since God lives forever, so shall the work of God be forever. The only thing that changes is who He has to assist Him in that work. God has called each human to assist Him.

Behold, there are many called, but few are chosen. And why are they not chosen? Because their hearts are set so much upon the things of this world, and aspire to the honors of men, that they do not learn this one lesson—That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness. That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man. (Doctrine and Covenants 121:34-37)

The power of God, the priesthood authority must be handled by meek, humble, repentant servants or it is worth nothing to anyone.

Conclusion

A captain with no ship is still a captain, but he or she has nothing to command but a title. The power to become a captain with a ship (servant with the power of God) for humanity is going to only manifest itself in the way we live our lives. The inside of the vessel must be as clean as the outside for the power of divinity to avail itself to the common man.
