Come to a Jesus Pep Rally
Reflections of the Cross
Standing Room Only
CHEER .....
LET US GET FIRED UP ! THE FLAME IS BURNING IN MY SOUL. THE LIGHT WILL BLIND YOU!
You have been invited to a pep rally in celebration of our Lord, Jesus. All you have to do is walk up a mountain ( meaning make an effort to get there no matter if it is up a mountain or down in a valley). The more that come the merrier, The more people there, then the louder the cheers will be! Do not forget to tell everyone, because one person not told will definitely miss out on a fun time. It does not matter how many are in the actual cheering squad, because we all have a voice to be heard. Amen
Now, let us see what Jesus would be doing. He would look upon our faces, and wonder why we came. He would be honored to know we love him, but then he would speak out to the crowds to be silent for a short time, and he would look upon the crowds and silence would be upon the mountain. The wind would blow around us, as if to surround us with his presence, and we would look upon him with such awe and respect. He would tell us stories of how to love one another, and then to dazzle us, then he would perform a miracle or two or maybe even three or four, and it does not matter, if he did it 2000 years ago, and it is a repeat performance. He is more powerful in his name today than he was years ago. The word got out. He shed his blood, died and came back, and the Roman soldiers could not explain it. Magicians today cannot do these things as proven by a Shroud and an empty tomb. Yes ...you can say Amen one more time, because we know it is truth. Up on the mountain the singing begins. Our lord has risen, and we are at his pep rally. Sing his praises, speak out against the wind so that our voices can be heard around the world. For he is as real today in our life as he was, when he was nailed to a cross and died for our sins. I ask you to shout hallelujah to the Lord. One day he will come back to this earth to his people, and we will once more cheer his name. If you brought your musical instruments that is all right too. Play from your heart that song that is within you to praise him for God himself loved the lyre that King David played as he wrote the Psalms to God.
I am at a pep rally and I see all the faces. I lift my glass of wine poured out upon the cross, as I drink of his blood and savor the bread of his broken body. Jesus I salute you, for I am at your pep rally to know that you died that we might be free of this sin. I see your weak, and your strong, and those that need you everyday. We are all here to shout out a cheer for our Lord, Jesus has risen and will be back to take us to the promised land. We are here to accept his love.
I am going to a pep rally and if you want to come along, then bring a friend for all can be at the father's pep rally. It does not matter, if you have not made your commitment of faith. Before we are through you will know the Lord. Our voices will sing out the strength of his love and forgiveness, and I will teach you the way. Love him that you might be free from the pull of sin upon your life, and offer to others that same love he gives to you. He knows you were never perfect, and by yourself you would never be worthy, but he knows that. He died for you 2000 years ago. He is within those that love him, and yes he will be back as we gather to shout out his praises. Let the pep rally begin and never end. For there are souls who know him not, and then there are souls who do not yet know they need him. You can shout out your cheer just a little louder, because some have not yet heard your voice. Amen
