In the first article I have introduced this topic and have started with a means of God interacting with the first man, Adam. I continued with this by telling us some of the ancient means and which are still applicable today by which God speaks and interacts with humans. This article is emphasizing that there are different means of God speaking to humans, and nations, therefore, it is of no need that one imitates or copies someone else. I shall continue with expatiation of other means in this article.

12. Through the Prophets

Prophets are people like us but who has special grace upon them. They have received special anointing from God to see, hear and know what many people could neither see nor known.

Through this people, God also interacts with man, telling them things about himself, ourselves, environment, among other things.

And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. (Act 11:27-30)

There was a man blessed with a gift like this during the times of the first church, he and others with such grace were perhaps sent to the growing church in Antioch to deliver their message unto them to keep the faith and not to waver.

While with them worshiping the Lord took this man, Agabus, into the realm of the supernatural to declare unto the church what would happen.

When the people hear this message they started preparing for what would happen and they also sent things to the indigent brethren among them and in other towns.

Prophet Elisha also saved the city of Samaria more than twice by the word of God when he was alive as he revealed unto the leaderships the secret means the enemies wanted to take to invade the country and plunder her.

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, in such and such a place shall be my camp.

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice. (2 Ki 6:8-10)

There are people like this around us today, though many liars abound because people want to draw members to themselves, they want fame for themselves, but there are people like that and God can use such people for us in our homes, establishments, countries among other places.

13. Through the Priests

During the days of Hannah, God used the high priest to bless her and her prayers were answered. (1 Sam 1:9 ff)

This high priest was again the person God used to bring Samuel up, he trained him in the ways of the Lord and through him he could discover himself, discover the gift he has. (1 Sam 3)

Joash would not have become king over Judah if not for the high priest and his wife that the Lord used for him. Through this people he learnt the ways of Yahweh. (2 King 11)

Present day priests are pastors who are called shepherds, through these people our lives could be tutored rightly, through them we can know God the more, through their experience we can be saved from what would destroy us.

For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. (Pro 24:6)

Poll 5: Make Use of:

Are you making use of those who God have been made shepherd over you?

See results

Many of us because of the perverse people of the world who have bastardized this office, we hardly make us of those who God has made shepherd over us. It is not all the shepherds who are perverse, not all of them are bad. Seek for the good ones among them, those who are true christian and be making use of them in your endeavors and you shall find them helpful from those things they would share with you and the Godly counsels that you will be given.

I shall continue with this in the next article.
