Over three decades ago I become interested in the Bible, having drank from the heavenly cup once, I have not been tired to drink more

In the first article I have introduced this topic and have started with a means of God interacting with the first man, Adam. I continued with this by telling us some of the ancient means and which are still applicable today by which God speaks and interacts with humans. This article is emphasizing that there are different means of God speaking to humans, and nations, therefore, it is of no need that one imitates or copies someone else. I shall continue with expatiation of other means in this article.

14. Through Perception

Perception is becoming aware of something or noticing something. There are people who God have ministered to because they could perceive the atmosphere, they could perceive what is happening around them, they could perceive the people they are interacting with.

- Father of Faith, Abraham: No one told Abraham that those who were passing by his house were special people, it was by his intuition, by him noticing them that he knows they were different and invited them to rest with him. When they rested with him, they blessed him and told him of things that would not but happen few hours from then. (Gen. 18:1-3)

- The Rich Shunammite Woman: This woman and her hubby have been given to hospitality, because of this, they used to accord Prophet Elisha and his servant respect and good things when they passed by their house, but on a certain day, perhaps after their departure the woman called her husband to tell him what he perceived about prophet Elisha and his servant.

The man may not have noticed this because he may not be staying around for long, as it was revealed when their son becomes sick he was in the farm working but the woman who was providing for prophet Elisha notices this and brought it to the knowledge of her hubby who completely agreed with her.

Poll 6: Share Your Perception:

Do you share your perception with your spouse?

See results

And she said unto her husband, behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. (2 Ki 4:9)

Your gift will announce you, sometimes we do not need to announce ourselves that we possess something, but when the people see our conducts, what we do they shall perceive what and whom we are and place us where we belong like it happened to prophet Elisha here.

- Nehemiah: When Nehemiah has received order to go and rebuild Jerusalem wall that has been destroyed by the enemies, those enemies “Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian,” because they do not want the work done, lied to them so that they will stop the work. Through his observation, he discovered their lies and continued with his work along with others.

Then I sent unto him, saying, there are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart. (Neh 6:8)

The enemies will lie to us so that we shall not be able to make progress on earth, but we need to notice what they are doing, we need to allow holy Spirit in us to make this grace grow in us to be able to discern and perceive enemies lies to bring us set back in all our ways.

- Evangelist Philip: He has been told by Holy Ghost to move near the chariot carrying the Ethiopian man but the spirit does not tell him that the man does not understand what he was reading or studying, it was by his perception that he understands this and would through that enter the man’s “18 yard premises” and would speak unto him about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? (Act 8:30)

Many people in this part of the world do not take to something like this, because of the culture, we have been brought up pursuing herbalists and star gazers, and now that people have claimed to have embraced the gospel, we are yet to leave that aspect of life, and thus we have transferred it to seeking prophets and seers, pushing some spiritual leaders who are not gifted in that to say something and when those people see that, that is what the people want they have been psychologically dealing with people, playing on their intelligence to win people to themselves. People who do not see something for them, such are no Christians neither should they be called pastors nor leaders in the church.

Because of this many Christians have missed it in this part of the world and they have been led astray because the ministers of Satan have turned around to become ministers of light unto them.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Cor 11:13-15)

As believers in Jesus Christ, we also need to tap into this means of God dealing and interacting with mankind, we do not have to be stereotypic, focusing a way because our God is not a stereotypic God. In the next article I shall talk on other way of God speaking to mankind and relating this to how he is using this pandemic to speak to us.
