15 Year Old Daughter Choked

Creflo Dollar, pastor of World Changers Church International in College Park, Georgia, has been arrested on charges of choking, punching and kicking his 15 year old daughter. It was his daughter who called the police.

Whether or not the allegations are true will be up to the courts to decide. However, it presents an opportunity to look at some of his teachings.

Redefining God

Dollar maintains that Jesus didn't come as God, but as a man, and that He wasn't perfect. As evidence the points to the fact that, according to Scripture, Jesus slept. Since God doesn't sleep or slumber, Jesus couldn't have been God at that time.1 This misconception is corrected in John 1:14. Dollar does hold that Jesus is God, but that apparently took place at some later time.

Man is a god

Dollar believes that "you are gods because you came from God and you are gods."2 He has even implied that Adam was an exact duplicate of God and was put in charge of the planets. Presumably Adam, then, could fly, something that Benny Hinn once taught. It's also reminiscent of Mormon leader Brigham Young who once said that he thought people lived on the moon! Once again, Scripture puts the lie to that claim in numerous passages such as Isaiah 43:10 which state that there are no other gods, except false gods.

A different gospel

When someone presents to their viewers a different Jesus and a different god, he invariably begins teaching a different gospel.

Dollar maintains that the gospel to the poor is one of prosperity and that you can't help the poor if you don't preach the gospel of wealth.3 For Dollar it isn't enough to preach salvation, but health and wealth as well. Naturally, he is a perfect role model with his lavish lifestyle - funded, of course, by the generous donations of those gullible enough to believe him.

A Teacher to be Avoided

These aren't isolated teachings, but things he repeats over and over again in his messages. Dollar says that his mentor was Kenneth Copeland, a man who claims to know how tall Jesus is - after all, Copeland has seen Jesus in person! Undoubtedly, if Copeland had really seen Jesus, Christ would have instantly turned him to cinder for the things he puts over on his followers.

Guilty or not of the assault charges, it should be easy to see that anyone teaching such blatantly false doctrines, as Dollar does, should be avoided at all costs. This isn't the Jesus of the Bible nor the Gospel of the Bible. Jesus does not guarantee health and wealth to anyone. Such teachers are a blight on Christianity, giving non-believers a distorted view of the Gospel.

      @Cassie Smith,

Welcome to reality about TBN, the "Toot our Big-horn Network."

Clergy on that network are so polished and fake that their rusty iron and crumbling terra cotta prominently protrude beneath their bling.

In order to make Paul and Jan Crouch appear more real, the network had to hire midgets to hide behind them and pull the o-rings on their strings so they could say any of each of ten phrases and appear to have a conversation.

Richard Roberts is up to his Adam's apple in financial issues.

Robert Schuller "retired" and, thanks to the shenanigans of his children, including his histrionic drama queen daughter, ended up selling his beloved "Crystal Cathedral" to the equally troubled Roman Catholic Church in a $57,500,000.00 BANKRUPTCY SALE. Well, as they say, people who live in GLASS HOUSES, or in this case CRYSTAL CATHEDRALS, should not throw stones.

God finally called Oral Roberts home, years after he tearfully pleaded with his audience to raise $7 million in one year for Oral Roberts University, lest God would "take him home" back in the 1990s. People bit his lure, emptied their wallets, and he got his millions. Now, ORU cannot even put a decent basketball team on the wood.

The "Laughing Church," DBA Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, is history.

"Pastor" Melissa Pauline Peroff Pastore Scott, formerly "Barbi Bridges," was supposed to follow in her late (second) husband's footsteps in ministry, but apparently could not "rightly divide" the Word of God when it comes to 1 Corinthians chapters 11 and 14 and 1 Timothy 2, which clearly state the roles of women in the church -- one of these roles is NOT that of a pastor at all, especially when that "pastor" was a pornographer, a "pony girl," AND a gold-digger. Her ministry is next to tumble.

Brownsville Assembly of God, Pensacola, FL, was once the site of a hootin' hallelujah revival in the early 1990s. Now, it is bankrupt as of 1997, its pastor is replaced, several former board members were accused and found guilty of cooking the books, and God administered the coup de grace by sending a bolt of lightning into the church, splitting the altar!

Locally to me, in the Honesdale, PA area, our "Assembly of God" couldn't even assemble a bar queue. Several "pentecostal" or "charismatic" fellowships erupted, then dissipated, or split, over issues where God's Word was not preached, heard, read, or even felt.

Does anyone see a pattern here? The MAN OF SIN is being exposed, and it is the BLABBERMOUTH behind the pulpits of most professing Christian Churches, especially those on TV. KNOW YOUR BIBLE. GET IN THE REAL WORD OF GOD, THE HOLY SCRIPTURES, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY WRITTEN WORD OF GOD TO MANKIND. Jesus Christ is the Word of God in Human Flesh, both God and Man, God's Word with His feet on the earth. Anything else is fake.

Agreed. This is why the local, Bible-believing Christian Church has such a hard time getting and maintaining a following. Priests are now pedophiles. Pastors and preachers are now used car salesmen. Good, honest MEN of the cloth are so hard to find that you practically have to climb under the altar, or crawl under a rock, to find one. Small wonder why so many people never darken the doorstep of a church at all.

Yeah, if he'd become a used car salesman people would at least have been suspicious of him, but as a preacher they swallow what he says hook, line and sinker!

Yeah, I watched on of his televised Sunday sermons and was not impressed. He made a couple of remarks which surprised me and made me wish he took another line of work.

Very insightful. A help in this age of confusion.

This must rock the sandy faith of his simpering followers (aka partners). The man is a charlatan along with all those 'name it and claim it', 'blab it and grab it' preachers of lies such as Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Joyce Meyer, and Rodney Howard Brown.
