Daily Treasure from God - 22nd April
From our Daily Treasure His Word cries out in
Isaiah 41:10 (AMP):
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.
'Fear Not...'
Today I was dwelling on 'Fear Not' as I faced a crisispoint in my life. I realised that I had a choice. I could respond in praise or I could respond in fear. If I respond in fear then it says ‘I don’t trust that God is watching over me’. If I respond in praise then He gets all glory and honour for what is about to happen to turn this crisis into a God given opportunity to establish firmly in my heart that He is able to do that which He has said in His Word.
I began down the track of fear, it became dark and foreboding. It brought its cousins, panic and terror, with it. It’s sole purpose was to turn my eyes away from My Lord Jesus and to look at the circumstance that reeked of ‘You can’t get past this, it is going to overwhelm you.’ As I continued to listen to fear’s voice I suddenly realised that it was coming from the pit of hell. That the enemy of my soul was jumping up and down, clapping his hands in glee, thinking that he had me in his grip. I am a person who has been trained diligently by the Lord for many , many years in how to deal with the enemies tactics. At times the enemy’s tactics can creep up on you and catch you by surprise. That usually only happens if I have my mind on the things and cares of this world. As the onslaught continued to batter me in a strong headwind and I, feeling quite helpless and maybe even a little sorry for myself, remembered that I had the answer.
Even before I could call out His beautiful Name I heard His still small voice saying
‘Come to Me, for I will never leave you nor forsake you, Fear Not for I am with you.’
So I turned and faced My Lord and Saviour, my very Best Friend and ran to Him. He gave me His strong right arm to lean into that spoke of justice and righteousness in this crisis. He quietly spoke into my ear and reminded me that what the enemy meant for evil He would turn around for my good. Yes it may hurt for a while, pain and suffering I am not a stranger to. It may require patience, of which I may not often find easy to endure. It may also require a level of trust of which only Jesus and His Testimony in my life can point me to. Bottom line ‘Fear Not for I Am with you’ is what I now, this very moment, respond to. He did not say that He would leave me, He said ‘I Am with you’ and that He would never leave me. He called me by name and said I am His. My name is written in His Book of Life and therefore as this is a firmly established anchor I can now stand and respond in praise.
I praise His Holy Name and trust fully in Him. I don’t have the answers nor do I have a way out of this crisis but I know Somebody Who does. His Name is Jesus and I gladly take His hand and praise Him through this circumstance. I can even safely say it is no longer a crisis, it is a ‘Christ deliverance’.
Prayer:
Thank you Lord, for being 'I AM' who is with us.
Thank you Lord, for being the One Who never leaves nor forsakes us.
Thank You Lord, for having a strong right arm on which we can lean on in times of trouble.
Thank You Lord for having a strong right arm on which we can lean on because it is there that we are safe and we are loved. It is there when You have comforted us that You then help us to stand once again.
Yet we will praise You and fear not for You are and always will be with us.
In Your Precious Name, Jesus,
Amen.
