Death or Salvation
which do you choose?
The world is filled with much evil. The enemy seeks to destroy. However, there is also much good; Jesus seeks to save. There is a battle for the souls of man-kind and this has been going on since near the beginning, in the Garden of Eden when satan lied and convinced Adam and Eve to disobey God.
Today as we look around our own communities or hear of what is going on all around this world we live in, we see or hear of so much evil. But let us not be discouraged, let us instead remember the words of our Lord and not hide under a rock. Let us insead be strengthened and go out and preach the Word, for we are told that: John 4:35-38 King James Version (KJV)
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
We know that it is our duty to go out and minister to the lost, to bring others to Christ. But we must also look at our own lives, how we live. Our lives—how we live is a reflection of Christ to those around us. People look and people judge. If how we live does not line up with what we say, then we are pharisees—hypocrites, and the world loves the idea of finding fault; Sometimes, in some cases, some people live one way around certain people and another way around others. Matthew 15:7-8 King James Version (KJV)
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
We must check ourselves and know the word of God and make sure that how we live (heart, mind and soul) line up with the Word of God. It is one thing to say we are Saved, but it is another thing to truly believe it and be saved.
Here are some questions:
--> Are you sleeping with somone without being married to that person? What would happen if you were to die then? Where would you go? Is sex more important than your salvation?
--> Do you tell dirty jokes? Is getting a laugh more important than your salvation?
--> Do you use foul language?
--> Do you get drunk or abuse drugs to get high?
--> Do you watch shows/movies with sexual content, foul language, violence etc? Are any of these things more important than Salvation?
Do you still think you are saved and will spend eternity with Jesus? I know that some will say that I am being judgemental and legalistic. However, the truth is that sin is sin and the way to eternal salvation is through Christ and this comes by way of repentance. Repentance means to ask for forgivenes of the sins we have commited and to turn away from them, and then to live according to His word.
There is hope. Repent and be saved. Acts 3:19 King James Version (KJV)
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. This does not mean that we continue to sin and then ask for forgiveness and then sin again and ask for fogiveness. If you do this, then are you truly saved?
So, what do you choose? Do you choose death or salvation? Do you like your sin more than salvation? Do you think you have a lot of time? I believe it is best to surrender to Jesus and live. Jesus came to save you, me and everyone. Luke 19:10 King James Version (KJV)
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Psalm 27 King James Version (KJV)
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
1 Peter 5:8 King James Version (KJV)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
