Emotional Healing

In the twilight of an Oregon summer night, the half-moon projects a mystical glow. Cool mountain air flows with the gentle sounds of cricket music. A glimmering star curtain unfurls to reveal a celestial vision of power and energy that transcends all human worry, doubt, and fear.

Tonight I am more at peace, but I still struggle with discouragement. A part of me obsesses and worries about an uncertain financial future. This negative side is unforgiving, self-critical, and emotionally abusive.

At age 60, it appears overwhelming and even impossible to change the direction and course of my life. As I try out new ideas and new technology to achieve my dreams and goals, I stumble and fall. So many barriers and obstacles loom on the horizon. The prospect of giving up and throwing in the towel appears to be more attractive and seductive.

My mind flashes back to the inexplicable death of a neighbor at age 57. I am further haunted by the painful passing of Farah Fawcett of anal cancer at 62. And of course, the bizarre and tragic death of Michael Jackson who was only 50, still leaves too many questions unanswered.

I ask myself why am I trying so hard to achieve my dreams, when reality smacks of karma, suffering, powerlessness, and death? And we all know about all of those bad things that keep happening to good people. Right?

I accept that evil and injustice exists in this world. I know random acts of violence and disease cause untold pain and suffering. But in these moments of despair, frustration, and discouragement, my consciousness returns to the power of the half-moon.

There is darkness but the moonlight always conquers the night. Today, I choose to thrive on that Light within.

Much of life will remain a mystery. But the stars above and the universe within will sustain me through predictable trials and life challenges. Today, I choose to embrace the majesty of life made sublimely radiant by those infinite, flashing, celestial spheres.

Positive Power

A great and positive piece. Inspite of the disturbing and alarming situation and events [bad] surrounding us, it takes maturity, sanity & a degree of strength to look at the positive side of life. Well done dear friend.

beautiful HUB. Yes, we all feel discouragement at times. It's natural and part of the human condition.

I speak of that in my HUB in the POEM "IN THE SILENCE I SUFFER ALONE" I just posted. Cheers to you, kind mystic,

Again, thank you very much. Looks likes the link didn't work because it included a period. I think this one will:

I am still waiting for official approval from that site. Pease and blessings....Gary.

You are very welcome! The link is not working, just clicked on it, thought you should know. :) I also paid $100.00 to an EFT counselor for 3 email sessions and she is not a professional, (she is not with this site), so anyone with your credentials ought to make a go at this by developing a private practice from home, and online counseling business, but these things take time to build up but its worth it. People will seek you for your expertise and compassion, no doubt about it. If I ever need counseing, I will look you up!

Thank you so much Violet! I actuallly signed up for the program under the link you provided. People interested in online counseling can now visit me there: I also appreciate your kind words and support. Peace and blessings to you....Gary.

Good to have you back writing in Hubpages- when I read your last hub when you were let go of your longtime job, I thought to myself, you would do well with online counseling; I have used the services of online counselor and the quality of the services was excellent. Since I can't hear over the phone, the therapist communicated with me by email.

Another beautifully written hub that many can draw inspiration from.
