Do You Have Any Evidence For Your Beliefs?
I normally do not visit Religious Forums but this weekend I decided to and I found this nice thread in which this nice guy asked this nice question which already have lots of nice discussions and exchanges that been going on for a nice couple of months.
Yes, everything was nice, that was probably why I decided to join in the fray.
And baring any copyright infringement, I made it the title of this article, so the original question was:
Do you have any evidence for your beliefs?
Obviously directed to those who are "religious" among us (as the one who posted it so well noted).
Anyway I gave this short reply:
Okay it seems like I was two months late for this.
But going back to your original question:
What evidence do you have that supports whatever it is you believe?
I am guessing, the same as those who believe God or any other god or those who do not believe. (None that will be accepted by those who believe to the contrary).
In my case, I just believe that there is a God (a religious term because your question was directed towards the religious-although my definition of religious may probably not be the same as yours but let's not get into that).
Anyway I believe in a Source that made or caused everything and I do not believe that everything came out of the blue. I'm guessing both do not have sufficient proof for the other, so let us not get into that as well. Let's just say it's either black or white, although there are the gray people in between among us who just can't make up their minds just yet.
And just like the ancient civilizations of old up until now, I went about seeking this Creator and after all these years I found it "believable" enough to believe in what was written about Jesus and "His" version of the Creator, or God as the religious call Him.
You have your own version, others have theirs and I have my own. If I get to have new "evidence" to the contrary, then I will most definitely change my beliefs, it's as simple as that (and which I have done so in the past).
And I would like to think that I do not have to debate my own personal beliefs with that of somebody else's, and doing so isn't productive as most people just do it for the "fun" of it and that most of us will ultimately "believe" what we want to believe anyway.
Not every believer in a God are close-minded brainwashed simpletons as not every non-believer is a rocket scientist.
And one last thing, I now remembered why I don't visit Online Religious Forums anymore.
But what the heck, I wanted to live dangerously even for a couple of days at least.

But don't say I didn't warn you.
