I am a writer, an author, speaker. I talk about overcoming anxiety and depression, developing a confident mindset, and awakening.

There is something much greater in store for you. This is true and I'm sure you've felt this truth at some point in your journey. Yet, life has a way of distracting us from this fact. Because of that, we can get pretty down sometimes and may even lose hope. So many things are happening in the world today, let alone within our individual lives. Relationships, financial struggles, and health issues have affected us all in one way or another. It can be challenging to keep a grip on things. To control your life. Or accept that you aren't in control. Whenever I find myself getting bogged down by the commotion of this world, I often turn to meditation. In my awakening journey and many others' experiences, meditation has helped in becoming centered. And eventually, I learned that it was a key to unlocking the power to change my life and strive for something greater. If you've been trying to better your situation but find yourself stuck in the same old rut, or just want to be prepared for the next storm of your life, this article will show you how to overcome what's holding you back and step into the awareness of the everyday awakening. We will change your limited perception to a panoramic perspective with a road-map for going forward.

So, what does it mean to have an awakening? And how can you have an awakening every day? Awakenings come in many forms and are described differently depending on who you ask. But, the common theme is that the awakening is a momentous experience where you are brought to a new level of understanding. The awakening is sometimes spiritual (anything can be spiritual depending on how you look at it). But, for some, it is not. The beautiful thing about awakening is that each person's experience is unique to them. Some people have visions and bodily sensations. Others might just see something in a new way or gain deeper access to their emotions. In all cases, the awakening brings us into a depth of understanding that we would not even be able to imagine prior. What this means is that you are capable of more than you can fathom despite any past failures. You have exactly what it takes to improve your life and the lives of those around you. Although the awakening process is often spontaneous, it is still a process. And all processes are made up of systems. This means we can systematically induce these wonderful moments that put us on the path to living our best lives. If you believe and act then you can do this through rituals and practice just as many others have.

Meditation has been my secret to living a life full of everyday awakenings. For some, meditation might provoke imagery of monks in temples sitting cross-legged for hours on end. But, I assure you that is not the only form of meditating. It certainly isn't the way I've done it at least. The entire goal of meditation is to center your focus and expand your awareness. This might seem like a contradiction. But, it is not. To be centered is to not be too much of one thing. Not too high or too low, too hot or too cold. Just balanced. The way we achieve that is by focusing on and controlling the breath. To expand your awareness is to experience something beyond just yourself. We can do this through positive imagination. When you imagine something positive you allow yourself to relax and your heart begins to open up to give and receive the many blessings available in the world. When I first began meditating I found guided meditations to be best for me. But, have grown to discover other forms on my own. Sometimes listening to music. Indoors, outdoors, etc. And I have noticed having much more intense meditation sessions while fasting.

For ages, the mystics have done excellent meditation both alone and in groups. Only recently has the mainstream touted the benefits that this practice can produce in people's lives. The generally agreed benefits to meditating regularly range from stress and anxiety reduction to longevity and helping addiction recovery. The nice thing is that there are even smartphone apps and other resources that can help make building the habit of practicing meditation super easy for beginners. Meditation can be done for as little as five minutes a day and yield those same results. So, there is no reason for you not to do this exercise and claim the improved life you deserve. What you can expect to happen as you take up this practice and others like it, is that you don't have as much self-doubt or fear. And you will spontaneously find yourself recognizing the divine nature of other people. The more you step into the awareness that you are meant to experience this freedom the more grateful you will be and the greater your awakening process will likely become.

Now, what the difference between people who merely uncover new information and those few who are awakened is the mindset that they have. As I said, awakening is a process. Without the right mindset, we are bound to give up on most things that don't yield immediate gratification. Or you may not even be willing to accept the possibilities that anything could change for you. The reason we struggle with this is because of the ego. The ego is an integral part of most of what you might think is your identity. Ego limits our imagination keeps the true self caged inside a box of labels. Your true identity is far closer to what could be considered infinite consciousness. This can only be fully understood after you have expanded your awareness beyond yourself. If you do choose to take up the practice of meditation, I recommend that, at some point, you engage in trying to let go of your identification with self and your own experiences. Only then can you comprehend that you are a being that exists outside of those experiences whether they were good or bad. And you will know that you have the power to choose your mindset rather than being a victim of your past circumstance. You must do this and continually renew your mind. By choosing your mindset, you choose your reality and shape the world you live in, without clinging to temporal inconveniences or being overwhelmed by your sorrows. And always you will be prepared to go to deeper levels of understanding and manifest the greatness that already is inside of you.
