Fear Not Grace Is Among Us
They Were Sore Afraid
I was studying and thoughts were coming quickly to my mind. I just could not get to the computer or grab paper fast enough to write them all down. I also had on the radio and heard a pastor speaking on the "Fear of God."
This really stirred my mind in motion, all the time God said within our wonderful Bible, "fear not." What do you fear? What do I fear? For me I am not a superhero or anything, but I can truly say not much of anything this world may afford causes me to fear. Why fear what this world or man may do when my faith is rooted in the bounds of the Gospel? I know my redeemer lives and He cares for my well-being throughout this life and eternity. For the cause of this writing though I want to look at times God spoke through angels, The Holy Spirit or Jesus Christ and said, "Fear not."
In Genesis 15:1, 26:24, in Numbers 14:9 and Isaiah, 41:10, 43:1 43:5 54:4 God spoke fear not. Each time those words were spoken it was just before God was about to display HIS awesome mercy, love and grace.
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I [am] thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward.
Genesis 26:24
And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I [am] the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I [am] with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 43:5
Fear not: for I [am] with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
God readied His servants for great things in these passages and He continued by sending the angels when our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ was born. The angel appeared to Joseph, Mary and the shepherds of the fields. What a mystery and a moment of grace God gave to the lowly. Jesus even described Himself as meek and lowly, and God chose the lowly to do His most marvelous of all giving. The gift of the baby Jesus!
The angel appears to Joseph
Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
The angel spoke, "Fear not." This was to Joseph so he would not be fearful of taking Mary as his wife. God was preparing Joseph for the miraculous birth of Jesus. The Holy Spirit of Jesus speaks to our hearts telling us to fear not just believe. Just cast your cares upon Him for His burden is light and His yoke is easy. God carried the yoke and burden here for Joseph so that his true grace may one day soon be displayed.
The angel to Mary
Luke 1:30
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
Man, what an awesome thing to have been found in favor with God! We can have that same favor by accepting His Son the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour. Confessing our sin and asking Christ to forgive us of our sin. Jesus said," he that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out," my friend this Christmas day won't you give your heart to Him? Will you ask Him to forgive the debt of sin you owe and place it on His cross?
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. That is for us all. We owe a sin debt we cannot pay.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Our sin debt leaves us with death, eternal separation from God. That is our wages for sin, separated in Hell no reaching for the Saviour. But as posted God loved us so much that He gave Jesus though the frail birth and hideous death of the cross that we may be forgiven, debt erased, Grace displayed!
Angel to shepherds
Luke 2:10
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
God chose us to reveal Himself in us. He chose the shepherds to show the grace endured in His love for us. Yet each of these He sent the angel to the words were spoken, "fear not." His Chicana glory was revealed and what an awesome awe-inspiring time to stand in this presence. It frightened man to be in the very closeness of God. His awesomeness and powerfulness we cannot comprehend. Even Moses, who wanted God to reveal Himself was hidden between the rocks and God showed Moses His afterglow. EVEN that was enough to burn the face of Moses. We only will understand this light when we reach the portals of Heaven. But the life, death and resurrection of Jesus is written in God's Holy Word that we which are lost may come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
So, my friends this Blessed CHRISTmas Day I wish to you all good tidings of great joy.
