Faith - What is It?
Linda Cross and Jodi Faith in Norway with Terje Gorstad and his wife
What is Faith? How can I have more?
From 25 plus years of ministry, I can say that
as human-beings we all struggle with the
same issues, especially when it comes to faith.
We want to know what it is?
And how can we have more of it!
Is God real?
Does He care about me?
How can I have more faith?
Yes, God cares about you!
He knows the end from the beginning. He created human-beings
and He knew that they would fall into sin...and He had a plan
already created to buy us back unto Himself.
Sin separates us from God. The Bible says that
Adam and Eve walked and talked with God in the Garden of Eden
before they fell into sin.
After they sinned, they became AFRAID and hid themselves
from God. (See Genesis chapters 1-3; I recommend going to www.blueletterbible.org)
This is still happening today!
When we sin, we run away from God.
We try and become "good enough" but it doesn't work and we become
frustrated and give up!
God knew that we could never be "good enough" to get to heaven or
to be holy and righteous as God is, by our own efforts!
The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8:
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God"
If you could be "good enough" God would not have had to implement
His plan into the earth. He had a plan that He would
REDEEM US BACK TO HIMSELF. "He gave His only Begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life". John 3:16
God paid a BIG PRICE to buy you and I back unto Himself.
Now, our part is to RECEIVE Jesus Christ into our heart and accept what
He did for us. He was "Emmanuel" which means "God with us". God the Father,
sent God the Son, to the earth to become a man, a human-being,
to legally live on this earth and pay the price for our sins...which was death
and separation from God, the Father.
When Jesus was on the Cross, He took the SINS of the world upon HImself.
He knew no sin, but became sin for us!
(See Isaiah 53; 1 Peter 2:4; 1 Corinthians 5:17-21)
When we put our faith and trust in what God did for us, we become
"born-again" of His Spirit. We are made NEW! We are a new creation!
The old is gone the new has come!
Now, lets talk about what FAITH is for a moment.
Faith is what stands in the gap before we see or feel it!
When Jesus appeared to Thomas, he wanted to touch and feel
Jesus before he would believe. Jesus said that "Blessed is
the person who believes without having to see."
Romans 10:17 says that "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God".
So, for you and I to have faith for anything...we MUST HEAR what God's Word says
about that topic. If we want to have faith for salvation, we must hear about
what God did for us regarding sending Jesus, His Son to the earth, and that
Jesus died on the Cross, took our sins upon Himself, paid the price, was
buried and rose again on the third day and is alive forevermore! (see Romans 10:9-10)
Want faith for healing? Faith for any of God's blessings?
Find out what His Word has to say, accept it, and stand in faith, believing
God that what He said, He will also do in your life!
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is
no variableness, neither shadow of turning." (See James 1:17)
1 John 5:14-15:
"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."
I challenge you to go to http://www.blueletterbible.org and do a word
search on whatever it is that you are wanting to
have more faith for and then copy those Scriptures out
onto a WORD document and print it out and start
believing God to do those things in
your life! He is a GOOD GOD! And He wants GOOD things for you!
Until next time...
Blessings!
