"Faye's daily words of encouragement" # 49 Todays word is: Judgement"
Definition of the word Judgement : The ability to discern ' the process of forming an opinion based on observation and consideration.
Psalms chapter 1 - 5 : Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in judgement, nor the sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
Proverbs chapter 29 - 26 : Many seek the rules favor but every mans judgement cometh form the Lord.
Matthews chapter 7 - 1 & 2 : Judge not for ye shall be judged.
2. For with what judgement ye shall be judged : and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measure to you again.
Judge ye not, for ye shall be judged. I think all of us are guilty of judgements at one time or another. To be perfectly honest I don't think we be aware of our judgemental actions of judging someone, when we make our opinions known and I think we all formed judgemental attitudes, when we were children and we brought them along with us to our adult life. Our bible tells us not to judge, and we all know that old habits die hard.
In order to serve God, we have to keep his word and do his will and pray and ask God to forgive us and help us not to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ. We should also ask him to take away our judgemental attitude and tendencies to judge. When I was younger it brought to my attention, that I was guilty of judging others and I honestly didn't realize it. After I found out that this was the case, I started to be watchful of my actions before I started pointing my finger at anyone else.
I did turn my attitude around for the best, because I didn't want God to judge me harshly for judging others. So, now I try really hard not to judge anyone, but even now, I sometimes unconsciously do it but I do catch myself and stop doing it. Turning over a new leaf is sometimes a hard chore and it will take diligence on our part not to judge anyone, because it's in our character to judge other. This is a hard challenge, but if we want to be free from God judging us, we have to work hard at being free from judgements and judging others.
