"Faye's Daily Words Of Encouragement # 155 Today's Word Is: Vanity "

Definition of the word Vanity: Excessive pride in one's talent, looks etc, something worthless or futile.

Ecclesiastes chapter 1 - 14 : I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and behold all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes chapter 2 - 1 : I said in mine heart, go to now, I will prove thee with mirth therefore enjoy pleasure: and behold this also vanity.

Ecclesiastes chapter 2 - 11: Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and o n the labor that I had laboured to do, and behold ,all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

Job chapter 15 - 31 : Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be recompence.

Psalms chapter 12 - 2 : They speak Vanityis everyone with his neighbor: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

Psalms chapter 39 - 5 : Behold, thou hast made my days as hand-breadth; and mine age is as his best state is altogether vanity.

Proverbs chapter 13 - 11 : Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Psalms chapter 30 - 8 :Remove far from me vanity and lies : give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me.

Romans chapter 8 - 20 : For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope.

Today's daily words of encouragement is Vanity, vanity is not a good thing for anyone; because it's prideful and puffed up and is a detriment to our spirit. Vanity ,is of no use, so therefore, it's useless and futile. King Solomon was a very wise man, he knew that vanity of any kind would be the down fall of mankind, that's why he tried to warn and educate man on the word vanity; he saw it for what it was, a hindrance of spirit.

To entertain vanity is the same as to entertain  an enemy, it is one of our enemies that forever fight against us. If King Solomon had to fight against van iity in all his wisdom and knowledge, we know that means for us, because King Solomon had everything; but his wisdom showed him what living with vanity can do to you and your godly life.

It's so true creativeone - King Solomon was the wisest man in the world, and he knew what vanity could do. We can take a cue from him and strive to abvoid this undesirable trait. Thanks for the reminder.

Yup-vanity is a detriment to the spirit-some are just so beautiful on the outside but puffed up outwardly with vanity--in essence, they are not really beautiful at all!

Thanks for a great word of encouragement tonight! ;)
