Forward In Faith
Matthew 14
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
We go on in this life waiting for Jesus, waiting for the wonderful sound of the trumpet call. When we hear that we are going to our true home in heaven. Peter had lots of things going on in his heart and life. He tried trusting Jesus when He called him out of the water. He started doubting and he was afraid to take that step and he started to sink. In storms of life we are afraid to take the step, faith forward it must be. Listen to His voice as you walk out of that water, and soon you will walk directly to Him.
When we face trials and storms in our lives we are secure even in the storm as we study daily, we find faith is not easy, faith is hard, but Jesus is stronger. He walked on water, and the disciples were amazed and afraid, they thought Jesus was a ghost. But, soon they all trusted, some doubted at times, but we all do that, that is why we need Jesus.
