Online Bible Verses - Galatians 6:1 - struggling with sin
“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.” Galatians 6:1NIV
So what are we saying here? Should one, in an assumed righteous state, take it upon him/herself to embark on a mission to inform the masses how messed up and in need of repentance they are?
I can tell you from painful experience, that is not the message or intent.
What today’s verse communicates, a charter to offer love and support to a brother or sister who is struggling. God can and does intercede in many ways. One of those ways, according to His word, is to place a burden on our hearts. A burden which identifies a person who is struggling. Sometimes, that struggle is with destructive or dangerous behavior. God’s instruction to us, go help. Help your friend step away from what has entrapped them. In the process, maybe we find an opportunity to share the Gospel as well.
One other thing: If helping out means we have to approach a cliff of sorts, keep in mind we are also vulnerable to slipping and falling off as well.
