Gates to Nowhere

Life seemed so charming...like existence smiling. High school days were done and a College diploma given. The perfect timing starting work days, with energy to wake up before sun rise. In a wink of an eye, parading the bridal march. Afterward parenthood arrived.

It wasn't like that for others...that darkness never brightens one single day. School days were like nightmares and College was out of hand. Getting a job was even worse than getting up early. Sharing a marriage life was not a call, perhaps parenthood arrived, but no one kept in touch.

A day came for the one that life seemed charming and darkness dried the existing smile. At the same time, light came into the life of the one who seemed unsuccessful.

Gates to Nowhere

There is a time in many of us that shadows appear to not disappear. The music that made us dance each day, all of a sudden is not heard. Ecclesiastes 3:4 says: "a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,". When we look to our side and there we see this person, that while we sweat what we had and now see it lost; this person is enjoying life.

We get to a point where gates take us nowhere. This is the moment when we attach to our hearts the letters of Psalm 37:7 "Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes."

What is 'nowhere' to some people?

Bob Marley
Prejudice is a chain, it can hold you. If you prejudice you can't move, you keep prejudice for years. Never get nowhere with that.e
Carl Sagan
Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Pull the string, and it will follow where you wish. Push it, and it will go nowhere at all.
Marcus Aurelius
Nowhere can man find a quieter or more troubled retreat than in his own soul.
Baltasar Gracian
Dreams will take you nowhere, a good kick in your pants will take you a long way.

Never give up!

When gates take us nowhere, never give up what was earned! That is named:

  • dignity
  • self esteem
  • commitment
  • pride
  • and gratefulness

Those are the earnings that keep depression out of harming a single step, or a decision taken. When all of sudden gates open to others:

"Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep."

(Romans 12:15).

While we sweat what we had and now see it lost

It is not about where we are...

It is not about where we are, but how do we react. Ups and downs are part of living. Some will be in glory days, while others with skinny flocks. This life cycle changes for many reasons, our goals, decisions, and just by the world around us.

The main concern is to stay away from comparing our situations with others'. We may fall into discrimination without wanting. We may react out of our values. Job 2:11 says: " When Job's three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him." How wonderful it is to be in the position of Job's friends, giving comfort. How wonderful to be in Job's position having those come, perhaps because we have followed Hebrews 13:3: "Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering."

Life is beautiful

Life is wonderful, yes it is beautiful, when you live it the right way. We all are different and what is good for one, for the other might be disgusting. I am talking here about what is good for each and every one of us. That we may apply Hebrews 13:3 "Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering."

Ecclesiastes 2:16 says: "For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered; the days have already come when both have been forgotten. Like the fool, the wise too must die!" Life is a great deal, live it right while you have it. The Bible is the guide God gives us to ensure our happiness, live by it and tell me how grateful you are.

We were created to live in happiness, however we are. Deuteronomy 12:7 says: "There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you."

Rejoice and live the right way. Work for what you want in an honest form and dedicate time to love. Blessings to all will come upon.
