Gentlemen, start your priestly function. Keep Satan off your family!

Updated on June 9, 2013

Don't let satan accuse your family

Are you letting satan in?

While this understanding is directed mainly towards the husbands and fathers in the body of Christ, it is beneficial to any one in a leadership position where they are accountable for others. Literally anyone can enter into this priestly role and function. So if women and men alike can gleam insight from this brief teaching, then by all means welcome aboard.

I had heard about the high prist function that men had as heads of their households since early on in my Christian walk, although I really had no understanding of it except the a man is to pray for his wife and children and try to be a leader.

My understanding jumped to a new level when Holy Spirit revealed the power of John 20:22 &23 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose so ever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose so ever sins ye retain, they are retained.

It became apparent that after we received Holy Spirit (the mantle of authority) that we had the ability to remove, or forgive sins. I know, I know I thought like the Pharisees also, only God can forgive sins right? Well it is apparent in the life of Jesus as ’son of man’ that he had power to forgive sins.

Mat 9:2-9:6 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

A true High Priest has the ability to forgive sins.

As Husbands and Fathers this office has been handed to us concerning our families.

I began to realize that if my loves ones, mainly my wife, did or said a thing that offended my religious mind, then a judgment would arise in my heart, and then many times through my words. Little did I realize that I was opening the door to the accuser, better know as satan. I was giving satan freedom to openly attach the conscience of my wife, making her feel condemned by God. My heart toward her made her feel different about God. Not only did I open the door to satan, but I blocked the door for Holy Spirit to come and convict, encourage, enlighten, correct or minister to her at all. The door to the Fathers heart had been blocked by me. Woe unto me!

Father forgive them

The high priest of the home

So what to do? As the head of the family a man has to enter into the priestly function, better know as the ministry of Jesus the Christ. A leader has to take the sin upon themselves in order to remove the accuser from their love ones. It has to be done by a decision of the heart, not just in religious duty. You literally have to say in your heart "I forgive them, let the blame fall on me" Don’t let your mind try to straiten them out. You can’t do Holy Spirits job, He’s better at it than you are. He will even let you help if you will first take the sin and get out of the way. Don’t let your mind and feelings trick you, lay your life down for your wife and family.

Young man and dear sir, the fruit from this ministry will satisfy your heart completely. You too will see the results of the travail of your soul and be glad.

Swing wide oh ancient doors and let the King of Glory come in. Our hearts hold the keys to the Kingdom.
