God Through History (Poem)
God is and God gives...
Freedom to captives
Good news to the poor
A refuge for oppressed
Knocking on the door
My wisdom before Kings
Our path through the sea
The burning bush to direct
Salvation from slavery
The destroyer of walls
The voice in the night
Hope in betrayal
Honey after the fight
My song in the prison
The Friend in the fire
My spring of living water
Adullam when I’m tired
The binder of lion’s mouths
The day cloud to guide
My prayer in the fish
The ram for my child
Peniel in my fear
Food from the raven
The One who calms the storm
Protection from Canaan
Oil in poverty
Breath to dry bones
The answer to my prayer
The knower of my soul
Restorer of walls
Exalted on high
The humbler of kings
The giver of life
Sovereign of all
Worthy of each nation
My lifter from the pit
The glory on the mountain
The Word of life
My boldness in speech
Victorious power
The One who gives peace
The light in the darkness
The truth in deception
My choice through the ages
The way of redemption
My reason for life
All through the race
My vision in death
The Lamb in my place
