Going through the furnace to reach the cool waters
Through His grace we can become pure
we have to walk through hell to get to Heaven
"Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.” Job 5:17, New International Version
It is never fun going through discipline. But sometimes we are stubborn and hard hearted. It is then that God needs to smash our arrogance into the ground. For it is when we are on our knees that we become humble and that is the heart that God desires.
When first becoming a Christian, I was very stubborn. God took me through the furnace to burn that attribute from me. Now it is much easier listening and obeying both Jehovah and the advice from good Christian councilors.
Perhaps it is a bad habit that needs to be burned from your soul that is preventing you from a close relationship with Christ that needs to be ripped from your soul. Maybe it is a bad attitude like arrogance that Jehovah needs to destroy in order for you to be blessed with a close relationship with Him. It may seem as if He has left you as you cry out to Him and he leaves you to suffer the consequences of your decision to refuse to listen to Him. You may hate the discipline while it occurs and it may feel as if you are walking through the very fiery burning colas of hell during you discipline, but speaking from experience I will share with you, when it is over you will be very thankful God loved you enough to discipline you in like manner and you will come out of it closer than you ever imagined with Jesus.
Prayer: My lord, although it was terrible some of the discipline you put me through, thank you for it. It burned off the rubbish that prevented me from being close to you and because of it we are closer than I could ever have imagined. In Jesus’ sweet name I give thanks. Amen
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day. Amen
