"Having A Self Pity Party Is Not An Option"

"Having A Self Pity Party Is Not An Option"

Most of us strive on a self pity parties, but when have these kind of parties, we're normally all alone, especially if we've been hurt or down trodden and feeling defeated and down and out. In life we all get hurt, in one way or another; how to come to terms with our hurt and over come it is important to our survival in this world. We cannot let our pain and frustrations destroy us and keep us from functioning in life. Self pity parties are debilitating and very destructive to ourselves. When we're hurt, frustrated and in pain, we become acquainted with the "Woe Is Me" syndrome. We ask ourselves over and over again, why did this happen to me or why me?: these are the questions, we're bombarded with, When going through our self pity party. when we're faced with any kind of lost in a relationship, or a lost of a loved one, we pity ourselves, and it seems to be a normal thing for us. We have to understand that self pity is very destructive and we cannot give in to it, and give it no room to grow in our lives.

The whole idea of the self pity party has to be destroyed before it destroys us. Some of us go to great lengths to project the self pity party, by using alcohol, drugs or even becoming promiscuous with our carnal desires. Our self pity cause us to do things, we wouldn't do under normal circumstances. Self pity is the number one thing that reduces our self esteem and makes us feel unworthy or useless. When we're bogged down like this, we have to keep our eyes on the prize, which is the eternal word of God. We cannot over come anything without the word of God, and that's including self pity. If you are down on yourself and can't say or feel anything good about yourself, than it's time for you to consult with the almighty power of God for your self preservation. So, we can love ourselves again, and hold ourselves in high self esteem; only if we ask God for help and guidance in our lives. If you're hurting and self pity has you down, all you have to do is just look up, and recieve help from God. If you can only remember that you are a part of God and he's a part of you; if you got a part of God in you......Then you can't be all bad. So, Love and respect yourself, because that's exactly what God want all of us to do.

      Nice page Creativeone!

It can be challenging to walk right through trials, storms, and trouble that seems to literally be at all sides- But without us trusting and relying on God as our strength, source, provider and joy we can truly be taken out and destroyed.

It increases the pain we go through if we don't seek God to push through it. Every time we refuse to be defeated and trust God we grow stronger and stronger.

We must resist allowing ourselves to fall apart with every wave that tries to smack us down.

If it were not for Jesus I would of drown already!

I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.> Ps 77:3

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.>Psalm 42:5

A wonderful hub, you are so right. Self pity is very hard to shake when you are down, but the rewards are so worth the fight. Thank you for your insight and words of wisdom.

creative , Thank you for reminding me of this . It seems so natural to have self pitty. But when you turn to God's words it becomes no problem. I have a sister that can't seem to get rid of this . I talk to her about praying for help. I feel like she really isn't getting connected with God. Wish there is more I could do. Other than prayer.

A very interesting point of view and you put a smile on my face about the cute way of handling with a 'down the hole' feeling. Thank you.

As you stated with much clarity, self-pity is self-defeating. The choice is ours.

      Thank you for sharing,
